Key Features: Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Rosewood Miramar Beach, features a sauna, an ice fountain, rain showers, co-ed and private relaxation lounges, a eucalyptus steam room with luxurious mosaic tiles, and well-afforded men’s and women’s locker rooms. Each guest is provided with luxurious robes to wear for the duration of their experience.

Guests can also enjoy the property’s multiple pools, including the outdoor cabana pool.

Bonus: Ahead of every treatment at Sense Spa, guests are invited to enjoy a bespoke Welcome Foot Bath Ritual. To begin, the guest is offered a warm neck wrap to cover the neck and shoulders, inviting relaxation to the body. The foot bath is prepared with locally sourced mineral salts, which preserve the therapeutic qualities of seawater, along with sage that grows wild in California.

We then invite the guest to close their eyes and practice a slow breathing technique, while a sage mist is sprayed into the air around the body. With this we honor the native tradition of using sage to purify the energy of this space. A light exfoliation of the feet is followed with a handmade scrub blend of locally-sourced mineral salts, citrus and ginger—which are elements found in this area used medicinally for centuries. The intention of this service is to balance and ground the body, and serve as a sign of trust and respect between the therapist and the guest.

When guests are celebrating a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, we offer a personalized card, handmade truffles, and tea or champagne to ensure their day with us is extra special.

Insider’s Tip: We advise that our guests start their wellness journey with a light workout in our Fitness Center below the spa, then arrive at the spa 30 minutes prior to the appointment for a post-workout spa circuit. Start with ice towels from the ice fountain, then step into the eucalyptus steam room for 10 minutes to increase blood circulation. Then, guests can treat themselves to chilled cucumbers from the fountain and bring them into the dry sauna to sweat out impurities. Finally, guests should end with a cold shower and an aromatherapy shower gel to cool down. This process will prepare the body for optimal relaxation and therapy during the spa treatment.

During the summer months, enjoy the outdoor cabana massages offered on our spa deck, where guests can breathe in fresh air, admire the mountain views, and relax under a cabana.

Snacks Served: We serve an assortment of seasonal dried fruit and nuts, as well as mini sweet treats from our in-house pastry team. Most notable is our personalized tea service, which awaits guests on a silver platter after their spa treatment.

Unique Treatment: The 90-minute Calming Wild Ginger Tradition is the most unique and locally-inspired treatment from our Lost Remedies menu, utilizing indigenous and local healing traditions to calm and protect the body. The experience starts with a ginger tea followed by a full-body scrub of salt, prickly pear, ginger root, and citrus. Wild ginger, among the various plants along the California coast used to relieve anxiety, has active antibacterial properties which calm the stomach and treat skin inflammation, while the native cactus prickly pear fruit beautifies the complexion. The treatment is complete with a healing and grounding massage incorporating hot stones.

Insider’s Favorite: My favorite treatment is the 90-minute Montecito Sage Purification. This experience speaks to local flora, particularly the sage that grows wild throughout the beautiful surroundings of Montecito. Sage has both grounding and clearing benefits, having been used for centuries to clear energy and to calm and soothe skin.

This treatment begins with a well-being tea to aid in the calming experience, from the throat to stomach chakras. Then, we combine earthly salt minerals with indigenous sage, pine, and juniper in a rejuvenating body scrub and a warm cocooning wrap. Following is a full-body massage with a balancing organic sage oil and warm healing stones, which leave muscles renewed and the spirit connected to the earth. When I leave the treatment room following this purifying body experience, I feel warm and loved, and my energy is renewed.

Splurge Treatment: The 90-minute Signature Extreme 360 Anti Aging Facial ($450) is our most luxurious treatment. This facial was developed to smooth the signs of aging with products from our exclusive skincare brand, EviDenS de Beaute’s Extreme Line, with highly effective anti-aging properties adapted to even the most sensitive of skin types.

Specially developed to stimulate cell renewal and actively fight against signs of aging, this treatment helps dehydrated and life-stressed skin regain radiance, energy, and firmness through the high-tech expertise from Japan and French elegance and refinement.
