We chatted with Jasmine Voltan, Spa Manager of Senses SPA at Cape of Senses, to learn more about special amenities and treatments to try, insider tips, and more.
Why You’ll Love It: When our guests arrive at the Senses SPA for the first time, they are certainly most fascinated by the view of Lake Garda from above. How can I blame them?
Like the rest of Cape of Senses, the SPA is designed to let our guests enjoy the amazing scene of sky and water merging. Secondly, it is impossible not to feel the sense of calm and peace that Senses SPA conveys.
In addition to the views, the soft colors, the brightness, and the connection with nature outside creates an environment where our guests can forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life by treating themselves to the “luxury” of total physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Key Features: Our guests have around 21,000 square feet of space in which to relax. We have a heated infinity pool, which can be accessed from the inside and includes whirlpools, and a completely open-air sports pool.
In our wet area, guests can find a bio sauna, a traditional Finnish sauna and a steam bath, and once they have finished their sauna session, they can enjoy an shower and rehydrate at our herbal tea corner.
Our Senses SPA has numerous relaxation areas to suit all tastes: bright and with a garden view; dark and quiet; modern and equipped with a wide selection of books about fashion, motors, history, etc. to browse through at any time of day.
Last but not least, our gym is open 24/7, amply lit by natural light and well equipped with Technogym equipment.
Insider’s Tip: I’m a sunset lover and, after experiencing the hotel every day, I can assure you that there are majestic sunsets, almost reminiscent of magnificent paintings. My advice is to ensure a front-row seat in the relaxation area at the SPA, or outside at the infinity pool to enjoy the colors of the sunset and end your day in the best possible way.
Bonus: At the end of any SPA treatment, a customized herbal tea by MEI is offered according to the guests’ needs. Indeed, our professional therapists are able to assess the guests’ state of mind and mood, and to understand their needs after a treatment. As mentioned, we are keen about the all-round well-being of our guests, not just during the treatment, but also after it.
Spa Snacks: At our herbal tea corner, we offer various snacks suitable for all palates and above all a varied choice of beverages for rehydration at the end of a sauna session or treatment.
Our guests can choose between mineral and flavored water, different types of herbal teas, raw vegetables, dried fruits such as walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts; and dehydrated fruits including apricots, mangoes, and red fruits.
We also serve “Bircher muesli,” made of oatmeal and apple, with milk and yogurt. For those who love sweets, our pastry chef bakes excellent cookies with orange zest, almonds, and dark chocolate daily. A real treat!
Insider’s Favorite: I do have a treatment I’m particularly attached to. Some years ago, I went to a spa and tried a hot stone massage and unfortunately, I left the cabin totally disappointed.
Keeping this experience in mind, when we created the treatments for the Senses SPA, I paid great attention to the hot stone massage, as I wanted to give it a different identity by adding also cold stones.
During this massage, relaxing manual skills are combined with the use of stones, almost without perceiving the difference. The goal is to give a warm embrace to the entire body and to relax the muscles. On specific points, the hot stones are transformed into cold ones to activate vasoconstriction, improve microcirculation, and re-oxygenate the tissues.
During the treatment, an oil with pure essences of lavender, chamomile and yarrow is used. Believe me, this treatment is truly a wonder.
Splurge Treatment: I have to mention our Private SPA, a new dimension of well-being for couples with lavender and grapefruit scents.
This luxurious ritual is performed in a dedicated cabin and begins with a gentle rain of salt, enriched with dried lavender flowers, and followed by a regenerative scrub with a brush. At the end of the scrub, the couple immerses themselves in a warm bath to prepare the body and mind for an enveloping and relaxing massage with olive oil and grapefruit aromatherapy.
Finally, a non-alcoholic cocktail and petit patisserie, made with love by our bartender and pastry chef, are served, rounding out our Private SPA experience.
Most Unique Treatment: I would say that one of our most unique treatments is “Touch of Soap.” This is a deep cleansing and nourishing treatment for the skin, body, and soul.
After a pleasant and warm initial surprise, an enveloping cloud of soap with a very soft texture is applied, followed by a scrub using a special glove.
Finally, a deeply relaxing massage is performed with slow, enveloping, and undulating manual movement, almost reminiscent of the waves of the sea. The massage is entirely performed with pure Argan oil, known for its nourishing and antioxidant properties.
Featured Products: All of our spa products are from MEI cosmetics, as the brand perfectly embodies the holistic and natural philosophy of our Senses SPA. The brand just uses wild medicinal plants, harvested by hand at the moment of their maximum richness, in their products.
An innovative inert gas-extraction technique is used to process these plants in a unique way, that is totally green and able to concentrate the active ingredients in its entirety. The molecules of these pure and food-grade essential oils are active ingredients that penetrate through the skin to spread well-being to the whole person, without side effects or allergies.
