The Ritz-Carlton Spa Bacara, Santa Barbara is a stunning 42,000-square-foot sanctuary (and the largest out of all the Ritz-Carlton properties in the country). It includes plenty of indoor and outdoor space for relaxation from fireside lounges and a rooftop terrace to a swimming pool and more. The spa menu features locally inspired and luxury spa rituals that pay tribute to the scenic California landscape.

We also offer a wide range of services utilizing every corner of the 42,000-square-foot space including an expansive rooftop terrace, full-service salon, luxury boutique, and state-of-the-art fitness facility. Fireside lounges and a rooftop terrace for open-air treatments, along with a calming lounge in which to relax, restore, and enjoy the spa resort’s iconic Santa Barbara views.

Guests can also enjoy quiet time before and after services in individual relaxation pods.

Snacks Served: A wide variety of menu items are available from more health-conscious to those of the slightly more indulgent variety. Highlights include coconut chia seed pudding with dried tropical fruits, the California Caprese Sandwich, and a Mediterranean Orzo Salad. Beverages include various cold pressed juice, various soft drinks, Au Bon Climat Chardonnay, Roederer Champagne, and more.

Bonus: Nothing brings us greater joy than presenting guests with an unexpected surprise and delight. The spa attendants are in constant contact with other departments throughout the resort, sharing information that might improve the guest experience. For example, if we learn a particular guest is joining us after a long day of traveling, we might prepare a soothing tea to aid in relaxation before retiring to his or her guest room. Alternatively, if we learn about a celebratory occasion, we may present champagne and charcuterie. The more information we are able to gather, the more personalized and memorable the experience. We always encourage guests to tell us in advance of special occasions.

Splurge Treatment: That’s a tough one! It depends on what the guest prefers. For those who enjoy a massage—guests who enjoy facial treatments absolutely must experience the Diamond Brightening Facial, which is performed with Natura Bissé products and is wonderful for evening out skin tone.

Unique Treatment: The most unique treatment is the Inhibit Facelift Facial. The Facelift Facial is effective at targeting wrinkles and deep creases, loss of facial volume, and skin tone and texture. The facial results in noticeably softened wrinkles and expression lines due to the advanced delivery of ultra-powerful ingredients, providing a Botox-like effect without microinjections.
