Why You’ll Love It: We receive a lot of positive feedback and comments about our Mayan-inspired treatments. Each of our signature massages and treatments were designed to harness the energy and magic of Mexico, pulling in Cancun’s natural beauty, culture, and history as the primary influence. Our Mayan treatments offer guests an incredibly authentic experience complete with natural botanicals and herbal scents. We also perform a prayer in a Mayan language, giving it an extra special touch. Guests also tend to marvel at the size of our spa as it’s spread across three floors of the resort.

Key Features: The JW Marriott Cancun has several health and wellness amenities available to guests. Perhaps our most popular is the semi-Olympic-sized indoor spa pool, which has amazing views of the Nichupte Lagoon. It’s a wonderful place to catch the sunset before a delicious dinner at one of JW’s three restaurants. The spa also offers a small fashion boutique, rooftop tennis courts, a full-service beauty salon, a jacuzzi area, and a spinning room where guests can break a sweat.

Insider’s Tip: Most guests typically stay four nights or longer. To help them stay on track towards reaching their fitness goals, we love when they take advantage of our on-property fitness classes including TRX, spinning, pilates, yoga, and bootcamp. They’re all taught by our master fitness coach. We can also arrange personal training sessions with a full fitness assessment and curated workouts that guests can continue even after they’ve flown home.

Snacks: All guests have access to mixed granola/nuts, bananas, apples, cereals, herbal tea, and flavored waters.

Bonus: Anyone who books a couples treatment will enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or a mimosa along with chocolate-covered strawberries. The adjacent Health Bar also offers a selection of fresh juices, protein shakes, smoothies, and beverage suggestions based on what guests are seeking (i.e. a detox/cleanse).

Splurge Treatment: Our Platinum Luxury Anti-Age Treatment is the one to splurge on. It’s a unique anti-aging facial that lifts and moisturizes to soften wrinkles and restore the skin.

Unique Treatment: Any of our Mayan signature treatments, applied with a luxury organic cosmetic line, are the most unique. They’re inspired by the JW’s iconic location. Two examples include:

Hunab Ku Ritual–Traditional Mayan Massage: Still performed in the local communities, this treatment is a refreshing mixture of rituals, unconventional healing movements, and a unique abdominal massage technique performed according to traditional beliefs of energy flow—one step back in time, bringing you closer to simple and uncomplicated truths.
Ichtaca Mayan-The Secret of the Mayan Treatment: This treatment starts with a Mayan ritual designed to help you connect with nature and the cosmos. The treatment involves an external body cleansing with herbal scrub, followed by a full Mayan Massage focusing on the most tense part of the body. Ichtaca means “secret,” and this is the secret to relaxing, cleansing, and helping your body achieve total tranquility.
