Located in the fashionable Arts and Garden neighborhood of Clayton, Missouri, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis is a luxury destination that has some of the city’s largest hotel rooms that include Juliet balconies offering stunning views, in addition to four in-house dining options (including a members-only cigar club and St. Louis’s largest dine-in wine cellar), world-class amenities such as marble bathrooms and Frette linens, an expansive and modern fitness center, and a hotel spa.

The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis features a carefully crafted menu of signature services and experiences that incorporate locally-sourced ingredients including red granite. Guests are also encouraged to enjoy the hotel’s steam and sauna facilities at the hotel before or after their treatments. We spoke with Jason Staggs, Head Concierge at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis, who shared his favorite treatments to try, insider tips, and more.

Why You’ll Love It: They love the personalized service that we deliver, as well as the amazing oils that we use in our treatments. Favorites among guests include our Relaxing Smooth and Invigorating & Relax massage oils.

Key Features: We have three treatment rooms, with one of them available for couples’ massages. Separate men’s and women’s steam rooms and saunas are also available, and we provide robes and slippers for all guests.

Bonus: For groups of five or more who wish to book a massage day, we can provide a private hotel room for the day where they can relax together and order food after their treatments.

Insider’s Tip: The Optimal Skin ProMoisturize or Optimal Skin ProSerum by ESPA are two of our best products.

Snacks Served: We offer infused water, a selection of teas, fruit, and energy bars.

Splurge Treatment: I can highly recommend our Red Rock Granite Massage. While stone-based treatments are common in many spas, the use of indigenous Missouri Red Rock Granite adds a special feeling to the stones’ temperature, as well as local authenticity.

Insider’s Favorite: The Nourishing Glow, which provides exfoliation combined with a light massage. It offers the best of both worlds.

Unique Treatment: The Missouri Black Walnut treatment—definitely a rarity. Missouri Black Walnut Wood provides a softer surface, which still allows for a more firm massage than regular bamboo sticks.
