Spa Review: CURE Daily Spa in Malibu Combines Medical and Holistic Expertise for a Total Approach to Health and Wellness
During a recent stay at Malibu Beach Inn, I had the opportunity to experience a spa treatment at CURE Daily Spa, which is located directly across the street and has a partnership with the luxury boutique hotel in Malibu, CA. Check out my detailed review of my stay at Malibu Beach Inn.

From Malibu Beach Inn, it took me less than five minutes to get to CURE. I used the crosswalk and took one set of stairs to get to the entrance (elevators are also available).
I was immediately welcomed by stunning ocean views throughout the space. It was a clear and sunny day so I had a lovely view of the beach and the Malibu Pier, which I enjoyed while filling out my new guest paperwork from the comfortable couch.
There’s also an outdoor patio with additional seating if you want to bask in the sun and listen to the calming sounds of the ocean while waiting for your appointment.
After completing my paperwork, I was taken back to the women’s private locker room to change into a robe. In addition to a pair of slippers, my locker came with two different robes—a thicker, heavier one and a lighter waffle robe.
Because it was a warm summer day, I opted for the lighter version, but it was a really nice touch that they offered both (I tend to run hot so sometimes heavy spa robes can make me feel like I’m overheating, especially in the warmer months).
The women’s changing room had private showers, a steam room, and an infrared sauna where guests can relax before or after their services.
Infrared saunas offer numerous health benefits including detoxification, relaxation, muscle recovery, improved sleep, increased metabolism, and strengthened immunity, among others. For first-time or infrequent sauna users, it is recommended that one start with a 10 to 15-minute session initially, eventually working up to 30 or 40 minutes with regular use.
After relaxing in the women’s area for a few minutes, it was time for my treatment to begin. I was brought back to the reception area where my massage therapist Wassana was waiting for me. She took me down a hallway past multiple treatment rooms to get to mine.
Some of the rooms had floor-to-glass ceiling walls that offered unobstructed ocean views along with treatment chairs for receiving injectables and laser treatments. I couldn’t imagine anything more relaxing to look at than the calming blue water—especially while having needles or other treatments performed!
My treatment room was located at the end of the hall and it was dimly lit with a Himalayan salt lamp to create a relaxing ambiance. Wassana asked which areas of my body were troubling me and when I told her that my upper back area tends to get tight from sitting at a desk, she said she’d spend more time working on that area and would customize the treatment as needed.
I was experiencing a 60-minute Custom CURE Massage, which is tailored to address each guest’s specific needs and helps get to the root of any pain and discomfort. A 90-minute version of the treatment is also available, which can be helpful especially for those experiencing more chronic issues who need more time spent on any problem areas.
She began my treatment by draping a sheet over my body as I was lying face down and she proceeded to massage the muscles to loosen them up. Afterwards she removed the sheet and applied oil to her hands, then used long, deep strokes to get into the deeper layers of my muscle and to help break up any tension.
Noticing that my fascia (layer of connective tissue that covers muscles, bones, nerves, and organs) were tight, Wassan offered to use a fascia blaster device on my back to help loosen everything up. It’s a hand-held tool made of plastic with hard, rounded edges that is rubbed firmly back and forth across different areas of the body.
Through repeated manipulation and pressure, the fascia blaster helps to loosen tight fascia, thereby reducing pain and discomfort. It also helps increase circulation in the body, removes inflammation and toxins, and reportedly can also help improve the appearance of cellulite.
Wassan explained that the fascia blaster can loosen things up much faster compared to deep tissue massage which takes longer with individual strokes, and I enjoyed how the tool felt on my back. It was never painful—I liked how it was targeting the exact areas of tightness and I even felt slightly itchy in certain areas afterwards, which she pointed out are toxins that are being released by the muscles.
A variety of fascia massage devices for the face and body are available for purchase online. They can be found on Amazon as well as on Ashley Black’s website, who is known as the inventor of FasciaBlasters and is a pioneer in the field of fasciology.
After my treatment my back felt looser and more relaxed, I even felt a little lightheaded but that quickly went away. Wassan gave me a cup of water to rehydrate and then I was given a tour of the rest of the facilities.
Located across the hall from the main spa and salon is CURE’s state-of-the-art fitness center, which has weight machines and everything else one would need to enjoy a full-body workout. Guests and members can sign up for personal training sessions, group classes, Pilates, yoga, and boxing to support cardio and muscular care.
Next I got to take a peek at CURE’s members-only clubhouse, which is located upstairs in a separate space. It has white walls, glass windows, and offers ocean views from just about every room. There’s a relaxation lounge with a fireplace that leads out onto an indoor patio with comfortable seating where you can gaze out over the water in solitude.
The clubhouse also has several meeting rooms and work spaces, as well as a room outfitted with equipment for recording podcasts, which members can rent. There’s also a private screening theater with movie theater-style seats and a large screen that can be reserved for special events and movie nights.
Different membership tiers are available based on each individual’s specific wellness goals and needs, and include different perks ranging from personal house calls to complimentary monthly treatments, and more. It’s definitely worth looking into if you’re a CURE regular!
On my way out I stopped by the retail area in CURE to browse their offerings. They carry a wide array of renowned skincare, beauty, and wellness brands including Alastin Skincare and R+Co haircare products. CURE also has a signature line of hand poured candles for different purposes including a Mood Stabilizer candle, Respiratory candle, Insomnia candle, and more. They are the perfect addition to any home or space and also make great gifts for others!
Malibu Beach Inn is in a convenient location and is easy to get to, especially if you want to pop in for a quick treatment while going about your day. There aren’t a lot of spas in Malibu, so it’s great to have a place like CURE that offers everything you could ever want in terms of health and wellness—all under one roof and in a beautiful beach setting.
