St. Regis Bora Bora Resort to Reopen July 23 and Debut Newly Rebranded Iridium Spa
The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort is reopening on July 23, 2020 and will have new precautions in place to ensure that guest safety remains the top priority. The updated protocols include increased digital contactless communication, appropriate physical distancing, Plexiglas screens in reception areas, hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the resort, regular disinfection protocols applied across the property per Marriott guidelines, and staff members will wear protective equipment.
Previously shared amenities such as bicycles or snorkeling equipment will be assigned for each guest’s exclusive use during the duration of their stay. Temperature checks will be performed upon arrival at the Bora Bora airport, and all luggage will be sanitized by the resort staff before being taken to the boat.

Other updates include refreshments to the property’s signature overwater villas, which include sanding and varnishing the floors, painting the walls and ceilings, and replacing the decks and roofs as needed. Select overwater villas also received updated interiors completed by Paris-based interior designer, Marc Hertrich & Nicolas Adnet (The Studio MHNA). The updates feature new wall treatments, furniture, and a modern and lighter pallet to complement the stunning natural views around the resort.
The resort’s spa will also reopen as Iridium Spa, the St. Regis’ signature brand. The 13,000 square-foot sanctuary is located on its own island in the middle of a private lagoon at the resort, and has a private beach with views of Mount Otemanu.
“We are thrilled to reopen our resort in paradise to travelers, and we are taking every precaution to ensure that guests, along with our dedicated staff, remain safe as travel to and from Bora Bora resumes,” says Richard Schilling, General Manager at St. Regis Bora Bora. “Guests will see necessary precautions made to protect their health and wellness while visiting, but the unmatched beauty of our destination and the world-renowned service at our beloved property remains the same.”
