Sustainable Spotlight: Renpure Prioritizes Clean and Affordable Environmentally-Friendly Beauty

Renpure launched in 2008 with the mission to offer clean, quality beauty products that don’t break the bank. Not only does Renpure make its products compliant with EU regulations, but the brand also follows the regulatory standards of PETA, International Fragrance Association, Health Canada Restricted List, and California Prop 65 List. (While only 11 cosmetic ingredients are banned in the United States, there are over 1,300 ingredients banned by the European Union.) The brand’s latest package redesign introduced a 100% recyclable pump, a major breakthrough in sustainability for the beauty industry. We chatted with Deborah Glasser, Global Brand Lead for Renpure & Mav Beauty Brands, to learn more about Renpure’s commitment to responsible, sustainable beauty.

Can you share a little about the story behind the brand?

Established in 2008, Renpure was founded on the principle of providing exceptional beauty and personal care products that prioritize high-quality, clean ingredients without compromising on performance. Offering great value to customers, Renpure carefully sources ingredients for its hair care and body care products, consciously excluding over 1,600 unnecessary chemicals like sulfates, parabens, and phthalates. Through innovative and sustainable packaging, Renpure aims to contribute to the well-being of the planet, aligning with its mission to make sustainable yet top-notch products accessible to everyone.

What are some of Renpure's offerings and what products are most popular?

Renpure has unveiled an elegant and fresh appearance for all its bottles, along with a brand-new logo. This revamp incorporates post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, demonstrating Renpure's commitment to sustainability. The real game-changer, however, is the introduction of the 100% recyclable pump, marking a significant advancement in the beauty industry. Renpure has revolutionized sustainable packaging with this innovation.

Unlike traditional pumps that contain metal springs, which must be removed before recycling, Renpure's inventive pump is entirely spring-free. This means that the pump can be easily disposed of straight from the shower into the recycling bin, without the need for disassembly.
