Hollywood starlet Marilyn Monroe was a frequent guest at The Beverly Hills Hotel, and as part of the property’s historic bungalow restoration program led by Champalimaud Design, 21 bungalows are being redesigned—five of which are distinct legendary bungalows featuring design elements inspired by select notable guests such as Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Howard Hughes, and Charlie Chaplin.

Monroe spent weeks at a time in Bungalow 1, and filmed Let’s Make Love in Bungalows 20 and 21. The redesigned Bungalow 1 incorporates aspects of the starlet’s life and includes whimsical elements reflective of her most celebrated movie roles. The aesthetic is glamorous and youthful, and is inspired by the Southern California lifestyle that Monroe enjoyed so much.
The living room.
With curvy furniture, bright and abstract floor coverings, colorful travertine stones, and gold-leafed ceilings, this feminine space is playful and sophisticated. There are also strong Jean Michel Frank influences that pay homage to Monroe’s use of his designs in her own home, including extensive use of parchment to envelop aspects of each room.
The one-bedroom bungalow suite (2,620 square-feet) includes a living room with dining area, fireplace and half bath; master suite, full master bath and dressing room and private terrace. The main suite also connects to two adjoining bedrooms. making it a three-bedroom bungalow.

Marilyn Monroe Champagne Bath Bubble Experience featuring a Some Like it Hot bubble bath (Ceara pure Atlantic sea salt from the coast of Brazil and Sweet Orange and Grapefruit Oils), bath pillow, wood back brush, bath mitt, and a bottle of Dom Perignon.
Marilyn’s Menu (available via in-room dining for an additional cost), inspired by an interview that appeared in the 1952 issue of Pageant Magazine in which she revealed the following: ''My dinners at home are startlingly simple. Every night I stop at the market near my hotel and pick up a steak, lamb chops or liver, which I broil in the electric oven in my room. I usually eat four or five raw carrots with my meat and that is all.'' She also admitted that she occasionally treated herself to an ice cream sundae. Items from Marilyn’s Menu include: Prawn Cocktail, Heirloom Carrot Salad, DiMaggio’s Spaghetti and Meatballs, Grilled New York Steak, and Marilyn’s Ice Cream Sundae.
