The Hotel Saugatuck Teams Up with Local Studio to Offer Candlelight Yoga Workshop
The holidays can be a busy and stressful time, which is why it’s good every now and then to take a step back and treat yourself to some much-needed quiet time. And what better way to to it than with a relaxing candlelight yoga session?
The Hotel Saugatuck, a historic luxury bed and breakfast in Michigan, has teamed up with Satya Yoga, a local yoga studio, to offer a special Candlelight Restorative and Yoga Nidra workshop on January 3, 2020 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Satya Yoga is less than a five-minute drive from the hotel and offers a variety of breath-centered yoga classes for everyone from beginners to advanced. Its Restorative Yoga offering is a gentle and grounded practice that incorporates various props to provide support during long holds of gentle and rejuvenating postures. Yoga Nidra (Yogic sleep) is a relaxation process that leads to a state of deep meditation and healing. This particular session will be coupled with the practice of intention-setting (Sankalpa) to help guests set their New Year’s resolutions up for success.
“The idea is to let go of what is no longer useful and create space for what really matters to you,” says Teresa Van Eyk, owner of Satya Yoga.
The workshop costs $20 per person, and guests of the hotel will receive a $5 discount. No experience is required and beginners are welcome, although advance registration is strongly suggested due to limited space.
After completing the yoga workshop, guests will be greeted back at their hotel room with a special dessert. All of the rooms at The Hotel Saugatuck have Jason Hydrotherapy Tubs with Micro-silk Technology, along with fireplaces and kind-sized beds—perfect for further relaxation.
“The holidays tend to be fun and a little bit too chaotic,” adds Al Heminger, co-owner of The Hotel Saugatuck. “We’re excited to team up with Satya Yoga and offer our guests such a special way to relax and restore.”
Hotel rates start at $266 per night. For more information, visit The Hotel Saugatuck’s website and Satya Yoga’s website. Follow Satya Yoga on Instagram: @satya_yoga_mi
