August is national wellness month, but we’re all about prioritizing wellness year round. Earlier this year, Tripadvisor’s Trendcast revealed the most popular micro-trends and cultural swings impacting travel. The trendcast found that travelers are planning entire trips around beauty treatments and wellness experiences.
Traveling for beauty and wellness? We’ve been planning trips around spa treatments and wellness retreats for the sake of “research” for years. So what are the hottest trends that travelers are seeking in 2025? If you’re looking to experience the wellness trends everyone’s talking about, here are the top must-try experiences according to Tripadvisor, and our picks for where to experience them.
Trend: Beauty Voyagers
Beauty voyagers are travelers that plan entire trips around beauty treatments and wellness activities that are inspired by the destination.
Locally inspired skincare and spa treatments
Trying skincare experiences inspired by local traditions or ingredients is a unique way to experience a new location. Think snail mucin slugging facial treatments in Seoul, South Korea; Rhassoul mud baths in Marrakech, Morocco; Ayurvedic facials in Kerala, India; and cacao scrubs in Los Cabos, Mexico
