Can you share a little about your background and what led you to launching Hey Dewy?

I was born in Korea, grew up on the East Coast, and now I live in California. No matter where I've lived, I've always struggled with super dry skin. I've worked over 15 years in various corporate offices with dry/stale air, sometimes straight under a vent, and noticed that my skin was suffering from it. Once I had kids, I was introduced to the world of humidifiers.

What makes Hey Dewy unique?

Hey Dewy is a small, elegant, portable humidifier that can go anywhere you go. Hey Dewy is unique because it delivers cool mist all day long for continual hydration at work, overnight, or while you travel. It connects to a USB cord and easily plugs into your laptop, into your car while commuting, in the plane while traveling, fits nicely in your luggage, and can be used all night at home or in your hotel room. Also, Hey Dewy is quiet and twists open to a simple cup container, so it’s super easy to clean.

What are the benefits of using a humidifier if you are feeling sick?

When you are feeling sick, you should definitely nurse your nasal passages under moist air by using a humidifier. Humidity helps loosen congestion, lubricates nasal passages, and helps you breathe more easily. Using a humidifier not only helps you sleep better at night, but using it throughout the day will allow you to cough and sneeze less, and help you heal faster.

Bloody noses are also often triggered by dry air, so humidifying is key. Even if you are not sick, there are constantly so many germs and pollutants floating around. Humidifiers help keep the cilium in our nose healthy and effective. These microscopic strands in our nasal cavity act as our first line of defense against dust, dander, mold, and many illnesses.

When the air you breathe is dry, the cilia aren’t able to do their job as effectively as they should. Plugging a humidifier into your laptop while you work protects you in the office and anywhere you work. That's why humidifiers are not only great after you get sick, but to help prevent you from getting sick and for overall wellness.

  • Researchers found raising indoor humidity killed 85% of airborne flu viruses within an hour, 100% within 24 hours. In dry air, the virus thrived for days.

  • The sweet spot for indoor air is 40-60% humidity for overall wellness and reducing flu risks.

Are there any other benefits to using Hey Dewy?

Hey Dewy is a natural way to humidify and hydrate hair and skin all day long. Humidifiers help to sufficiently hydrate skin's natural moisture barrier so you can maintain a healthy, radiant glow. Especially during the colder months, outdoor air humidity levels have dropped and with all the heaters blasting inside, indoor air is extremely dry. Drinking plenty of water and using Hey Dewy all day long is important for that dewy glow.

What are your tips for getting the most out of Hey Dewy?

  • Use it ALL day—that means at your laptop while working, in the car while commuting, you can even plug it into a portable charger and use while on the go.

  • Use it during your morning and nighttime skincare routine. Did you know that hydrating your skin improves the performance of the skincare products that are applied? If you are investing in premium skincare ingredients (making a dent in that pocketbook), make sure to constantly humidify and use this cool mist during your daily routine.

  • Use it all night while sleeping (next to your bedside). Your sinuses will be clear and your skin will feel refreshed & dewy when you wake.

  • Use it while traveling—on the plane or in the hotel.

  • Keep it clean—fill new water every day (don't let old water sit in the device). It’s like a cup, so just rinse it out (you can use a bottle brush if you have one). Super simple!

What is The Water Project and how does purchasing a Hey Dewy help give back?

The Water Project is a non-profit organization that provides access to clean, safe, reliable water in communities in sub-Saharan Africa  Water (i.e. Uganda, Sierra Leone, Kenya). These water projects (like building wells, water filtration systems, proper sanitation) help bring clean water to communities that are desperate for it. 10% of every HeyDewy purchase goes to The Water Project and helps fund Clean Water Initiatives.

When women and young girls are spending four hours every day walking to get dirty water, that is four hours taken away from getting an education, working on a trade, and the cycle of poverty continues. Hey Dewy is passionate about water. We believe water is not only life giving, but also life-changing. We are just creating a means in which its benefits and impact can be more fully realized, one person at a time.

Hey Dewy retails for $39 and can be purchased at heydewy.com.
