Bodyography is an eco-conscious, clean beauty, and family-owned business co-owned by Lori Leib. Both of Leib’s parents worked in the beauty industry for decades, which helped inspire her on the path to co-found Bodyography with her father. The brand’s goal is to bring customers high-quality products made from naturally-derived ingredients that are certified cruelty-free (they have vegan offerings) and free from potentially toxic ingredients including parabens, mineral oil, and sulfates. Bodyography is also sustainably conscious and has updated their packaging to reduce plastic by 35%.

Recently, I was in need of a new foundation, so I was excited to have the opportunity to try out Bodyography’s Pro Perfect Foundation Stick and Skin Slip Full Coverage Concealer. For years, I’ve been using liquid foundation and I’ve found a few that I like, but I had been looking to try something new and stick foundation was calling my name.

Pro Perfect Foundation Stick (Sand) $31

I’m very self-conscious about my skin and before the pandemic I wore foundation every day to cover up sun damage, freckles, and uneven tone. After trying out Bodyography Pro Perfect Foundation Stick, this is definitely a foundation I will continue to wear for my Zoom calls and when I leave the house (which will hopefully be more often soon!)

The foundation is a buildable formula that can be medium to full coverage. It easily blended in with my skin and covered up my imperfections, while still looking natural—not like I was wearing a ton of makeup. It also took my skin from looking a little on the dull side to brightening it up in all the right ways while making my pores less noticeable.

The finish is demi-matte, which I found to be very flattering for my skin type. I also like that it is easy to apply and can be blended with a brush, sponge (or your fingers), but ithe stick formula makes it a no-mess solution that’s perfect for traveling or taking with you on-the-go.

Skin Slip Full Coverage Concealer (L3), $25

I have a hard time finding a concealer I like and this is definitely the best one I’ve tried in a long time. My issue with most concealers is that they look great for two seconds and then they seem to disappear, offering no actual concealing when you need it. This concealer was full-coverage enough to stay put and keep things concealed, which made me very happy. I used it under my eyes where it really brightened up my look and in a few random spots on my face to conceal small breakouts. So far, this is going to be my go-to concealer for 2021!

Fabric Texture Lipstick in Chiffon, $26

This lipstick has a great texture that isn’t too dry and is more on the moisturizing-side while still being demi-matte with a really nice color pigment. I’m always looking for a neutral-nude lip color and it isn’t easy to find one that works well with my skin tone. Those that are too pink or too beige just don’t look right on me. I loved this color because it gave me just the right amount of flattering nude peach to brighten up my lips while being a natural and neutral-looking color.

Glitter Pigment (Solar Flare), $23

When I see a small jar with the words “glitter pigment,” I get a little worried. I expect to open the jar and have glitter fly everywhere and make a big mess. I know glitter pigments can look great on, but the potential for me to get them all over the place is high, so I usually avoid them. I wanted to complete the look with a Bodyography shadow, so I went ahead and gave Bodyography’s Solar Flare Glitter Pigment a shot—after all, Glitter Pigment is one of Bodyography’s best-selling products. I had to see why this product is a cult-favorite and I was pleasantly surprised.

First of all, the pigment did not fly everywhere! There is a clear plastic topper that keeps the product in place. When you remove the topper, the pigment is not totally “loose” pigment, but more of a cushiony pigment cream so it doesn’t get all over the place. The glitter pigment itself is super-fine to provide for a high-sparkle finish that looks really cool in the light. It’s very pretty and perfect for adding a fun pop of sparkle to your look. I wasn’t able to capture it in the photo of myself, but I’ll try to get another picture of it soon.

So here’s how the look turned out! I’m terrible at taking selfies, but I’m very happy with how flattering this makeup is and I’m excited to use it again.

(In the before photo I’m not wearing any makeup. In the after photo I’m wearing all of the Bodyography products described, along with my own eyeliner and mascara to finish the look.)
