We Tried Curly Temple
I have been on a hair journey my whole life. I’m always searching for new curly hair products that will go the distance. My hair is naturally dry and I spend more money on conditioners trying to hydrate my hair than I do on clothing. I’m not a big shopper, but I won’t think twice about purchasing the latest hair hydration solutions.
I’ve tried a few all-natural ingredient hair products and usually they are not able to do the job—until finally I came across Curly Temple. Curly Temple is a black-owned brand that offers vegan haircare products for all curl types. Their website offers a shop by hair type section, which is an incredibly helpful tool for navigating through the abundance of products. They are all paraben- and formaldehyde-free as well. Woo hoo!
My curls are type 3B - 3C. I decided to try out the Island Frizz Definer and Detangler ($18.50) because those have always been number one issue for my hair. After washing my hair, I rubbed the Island Frizz Definer and Detangler throughout my hair, then sectioned it into parts and using my fingers, rubbed into each section then used my brush. Section by section, my hair quickly became silky smooth. I loved the citrus scent. I have yet to use a product that uses only natural ingredients and no chemicals to be this effective. I was really impressed.
Then I rinsed and move onto the Kurl-Aid Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner ($20.50). This moisturizing leave-in conditioner softens and detangles hair while controlling frizz. I prefer to add leave-in conditioner while my hair is still wet and silky. I squeezed any extra water out of my hair and it still held some defined curls but still had a few sections that were a bit frizzy.
Then I added my favorite product: Pineapple Crunch Gel Curl Definer ($20). In most gels the textures feel like glue. This product does not—it feels like a conditioner. I applied using my fingers and taking one section at a time. My curls fully came to life and all the frizz was gone so that I could show off my defined curls. The scent of pure botanicals pineapple and aloe was so lovely. This product contains turmeric, ginger, flaxseed, and jojoba oil, which are all the ingredients my body loves and so does my hair!
If you’re looking to try vegan hair products for your curls, I definitely recommend trying out Curly Temple. I found it to be a pleasure for all my senses!
