What to Expect at the Allure Store: We Chat with Sexy Hair's Caleb Foltermann

Allure Store.

I consider myself to be somewhat of a hair product connoisseur. You name it, I’ve probably tried it.

Sexy Hair has been one of my all-time favorite brands for a long time. (Check out a recent review of their new CBD line here.)  When I found out that Sexy Hair (as well another one of my faves, STMNT) was being featured at the new Allure Pop Up in New York, I had to know more.

The store, located in the SoHo neighborhood features a selection of more than 270 beauty products from over 150 brands chosen by Allure editors, including past Allure beauty award winners and new product discoveries.

Allure Store.

I was able to chat with Caleb Foltermann, General Manager at Sexy Hair/Henkel Professional, to learn more about his career, his advice, and of course, the Allure Pop-Up and their involvement in this exciting retail experience. Here’s what he had to say:

With over 20 years of experience, Foltermann entered the beauty space through the business side and sales. His advice: If you’re interested and have a passion for becoming a stylist, then become a stylist. If you are interested in business, then focus on sales and marketing. You can enter the space from either side and make it work for you.

He describes stylists as some of the hardest-working people he knows and really enjoys working in this space day to day. He is excited about going forward after the difficult year that was 2020, which makes being featured in the Allure Pop-Up that much more meaningful.

What shoppers can expect at the Allure Pop Up:

The store takes retail shopping to the next level. Foltermann describes it as a “beauty showroom” and the ultimate 360-interactive beauty experience. QR codes connect customers with online content.

The Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hair Spray, their #1 product and past beauty award winner, is featured in the store. Foltermann’s personal favorite: STMNT’s All in One Cleanser is also featured as an up-and-coming product. He encourages everyone in the area to check it out and see it for themselves.

Fun fact: All of the Sexy Hair packaging is up to 95% PCR (Post Consumer Resin) sustainable, meaning less plastic in landfills and less microplastics in the environment.

Sexy Hair Spray and Play Hairspray.

Hopefully, I will be able to make the trip to see the store for myself. I am so excited that two of my favorite brands are featured. If you’re already fan of Spray & Play Hairspray, make sure to check out their new limited-edition fragrances: Dragonfruit + Bright Poppy and Cucumber Water + Fresh Gardenia.

The Allure Store is located at 191 Lafayette St., New York, NY. If you go, let us know!
