Guest can explore human connections at Kimpton’s unique Room 301 experience.

If you’re looking for a unique interactive hotel experience, Kimpton has recently launched a new social experiment centered around human connections. Guests who book the “Room 301 Experience” will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of in-room activities that seek to uncover the intersection and variances of the human experience. The hotel experiment will take a look at what makes people uniquely human and whether strangers can share meaningful connections.

So, what exactly can you expect from the Room 301 Experience? Spoiler alert ahead! Take a peek at some of the in-room activations:

Global Angel Wings & Stay Human Sign

Kimpton partnered with Collette Miller of the Global Angel Wing Project to make the room feel extra special with this custom neon sign and art.

Welcome Kit

Guest of Room 301 will receive a welcome kit with travel and wellness oriented gifts hand-selected by Kimpton such as Kimpton robes and Atelier candles. (Valued at $200).

iPad Station

At the iPad station, guests will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as adding songs to the Spotify playlist and leaving a video testimonial. The video testimonial will give guests the chance to self-reflect by answering questions like, “What is your favorite thing about yourself and why?”

Letter Lingo

Guests will use the letter to write a message on the boards for the next guest staying in the room.

Guestbook 2.0.

The guestbook is there to help guests tell their story. It’s filled with a variety of questions and prompts, and Kimpton is encouraging creativity by providing crafting supplies.

Photo Moods

Guests will be asked to take a photo with the instant camera that represents their mood at the moment, then describe their mood in their own words and write it on the photo.

Mystery Vice

The mystery vice activity prompts guests to choose one of the classic seven “deadly” vices that most speaks to them.

Community Confessions

The Community Confessions activity gives you a chance to do something that is never allowed at a hotel—which is write on the wall!

Pay It Forward

This “pay it forward” activity will really give Kimpton a look into human nature, since they’ll be asking guests to make a choice between keeping a perk for themselves or paying it forward. Guests will be given a certificate for 10,000 IHG® Rewards Club points, which can be redeemed for hotel stays, experiences, merchandise, gift cards, and more. They can choose whether they’d like to keep the gift for themselves or give it to someone else—and the options of who they can gift to will vary throughout the experiment. Kimpton is interested to see whether the recipient— and whether or not the guest knows the recipient—will affect the choices.

Kimpton’s “Room 301” will be available at Kimpton Everly Hotel in Los Angeles and at select Kimpton hotels across the United States from September 6 through November 30. Bonus: The experience is available at 15 percent off the best flexible rate! For each guest that books Room 301, Kimpton will make a $10 donation to the guest’s choice of either The Trevor Project or No Kid Hungry, two of Kimpton’s non-profit partners.
