Top Influencers Share Social Media Tips at SIMPLY LA
If you happened to be at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, California, on August 11, you may have spotted your favorite influencers among a sea of particularly stylish and success-hungry millennial women. If you were lucky, perhaps you even snagged a selfie with top digital stars such as Kat Graham, Rachel Levin, Lo Bosworth or Jeannie Mai.
The whirlwind of influencers and fashionistas gathered at The Americana at Brand for SIMPLY LA, a digital media conference that encourages women to pursue their dreams while connecting with and supporting others. We chatted with Founder Sarah Boyd to find out how she came up with the idea for the event:
“I was always kind of known as the nice girl in PR," she shared. "Everyone told me I had to be mean. I didn’t want to be mean. I wanted to empower women and wake up happy every day and change lives. I wanted to create one space and one roof to connect brands and influencers, and do it with kindness."
Sarah also realized that not everyone has a connection to help them get a job in the industry. Sometimes you need that one person to take a chance on you to get your foot in the door. SIMPLY LA was Sarah’s way to “support, guide and inspire all of you to reach for the stars and never give up.” The conference included panels and presentations from influencers and digital marketing experts in beauty and fashion.
Panel topics included subjects like The Art of Negotiation, Growing and Scaling Your Business, Monetizing Your Influence and Interpreting Analytics. There was plenty of expert advice on all things digital marketing and social media. To give you a taste of the tips provided, here is a sample of advice from how to Grow Your Engagement where three SIMPLY LA Influencers offered their insight into increasing your visibility on social media!
