Abhasa means "illusion" in Sankrit, and is known for being the only spa in Honolulu that offers spa treatments in a garden setting in the midst of world-famous Waikiki. Here, the spa director at the Abhasa Spa shares some insight into the spa's treatments, products, and insider tips.

Why You’ll Love It: Our guests love our outdoor garden cabanas the most because of the tropical garden setting. Most of our guests would like to experience their spa treatments outdoors, which just adds to their vacation here in Hawaii.

Insider Tip: We're the only spa in Waikiki that has the tropical outdoor garden cabana setting for spa treatments. We are also the only spa to offer massage classes, called the "Abhasa Academy".

Splurge: I would recommend one of our packages for a luxurious "splurge" treatment. Options include the Royal Combination (50-minute Lomi Lomi Massage and a 50-minute Abhasa Tropical Facial); Hibiscus (50-minute Lomi Lomi Massage and 50-minute Hawaiian Organic Body Treatment); as well as the Couple’s Package Ku’uipo (80-minute Lomi Lomi Massage and 25-minute choice of foot massage, scalp massage or mini facial).

Most Unique Treatment: Our most unique treatment is the Detox De-Stress Massage. It is a 50-minute full body massage treatment which uses all the detoxifying massage techniques, such as kneading/petrissage, rolling, and/or basic effleurage stroking movements, along with one of our products, the massage detox mud Bagni Di Pisa from Comfort Zone. It's an excellent recovery massage, and will help stimulate and invigorate muscles and soft tissue.

Insider Favorite: A favorite is the Hawaiian Organic Spa Experience body treatment. It is full-body, and the products used are quite special. For example, it includes organic extra virgin coconut oil, passion fruit, and Hawaiian honey, all of which are special ingredients from Hawaii. These products help to rejuvenate the body.
