Aman New York to Open in August 2022

The highly anticipated Aman New York will welcome its first guests on August 2, 2022.

The latest addition to the portfolio of luxury Aman properties is the highly anticipated Aman New York, which will open its doors to guests on August 2, 2022.

Manhattan’s iconic Crown Building, located at the corner of 57th Street and Fifth Avenue, has been transformed into an 83-suite hotel with 22 branded residences that bring the peace promised by Aman’s Sanskrit-derived name to New York, making it the second Aman hotel in an urban setting (after Aman Tokyo) and the third Aman property in the US (in addition to Amangiri in Utah and Amangani in Wyoming).

Located in the transformed Crown Building in Manhattan, the 83-suite hotel and its 22 branded residences bring the peace promised by Aman’s Sanskrit-derived name to the heart of New York.

Upon entering the hotel, guests head to the 14th floor where they are greeted by a double-height atrium that instils a sense of grandeur while connecting exceptional spaces for socializing, designed by Jean Michel Gathy of Denniston and guided by the pulse of the city.

On-site restaurants include Arva, Aman’s Italian restaurant, and Nama, Aman’s interpretation of Japan’s washoku dining tradition, which features a Japanese Hinoki wood counter for omakase-style fine dining, alongside a Wine Library, all linked by a verdant wraparound Garden Terrace.

Featuring reflective pools and dramatic firepits, the nearly 7,000 square-foot outdoor space’s retracting glass roof allows year-round access. The exclusive Jazz Club offers world-class live performances, reinventing a classic New York experience and serving as a nightly gathering place.

Suite features include opulent and oversized bathrooms with oval soaking bathtubs, marble rain showers and double vanities.

The hotel’s Aman Spa spans three floors and 24,800 square feet, offering guests the ultimate rejuvenating escape from the city. It features a full spectrum of wellness-enhancing facilities, centered by a 65-foot indoor swimming pool flanked by firepits and daybeds.

Two vast Spa Houses house double treatment rooms, Banya and Hammam rooms, and private outdoor terraces with hot and cold plunge pools, daybeds and fireplaces. The Spa Houses are available for private use and are comparable to those of Aman’s remotest retreats, introducing a new concept to the city.

The hotel’s 83 suites decorated in organic, natural materials and muted tones are among the largest in New York and are inspired by the airy architecture of Aman’s properties in Southeast Asia. Each suite includes a functioning fireplace, along with opulent and oversized bathrooms with oval soaking bathtubs, marble rain showers and double vanities.

Each suite also has a large-scale mural by contemporary Japanese artist Ryoko Adachi and inspired by the 15th-century masterpiece Pine Trees (Shōrin-zu byōbu) by Hasegawa Tōhaku. Adachi’s recreation captures its eminent pre-Edo influence and is a homage to Tōhaku, printed on delicate rice paper and spanning the walls.

The hotel’s suites are among New York’s largest and are inspired by the airy architecture of Aman’s properties in Southeast Asia.

“Following the success of the multi-award-winning Aman Tokyo, our strategy to bring the coveted Aman lifestyle to urban destinations continues apace,” says Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman. “A milestone opening, Aman New York marks our greatest investment into a single destination to date. The hotel introduces an entirely new concept to the city through expansive and unmatched amenities, which propels the brand forward, delivering a guest experience like no other.”

Reservations for Aman New York open on July 25, 2022 with stays commencing on August 2. For more information and to book a stay, visit the website.
