Beauty DIY: Crown Braid

Celebrity stylist Sarah Potempa shares how to create a crown braid in four simple steps.

Today is International Peace Day and there are countless ways to celebrate! Paying it forward is one of the best ways you can spread peace and positivity to others, and Sarah Potempa, celebrity stylist and inventor of The Beachwaver Co., is sharing a simple step-by-step to recreate a gorgeous bohemian crown braid so you can celebrate this special holiday in style:

1. Curl hair for texture and volume. She recommends using The Beachwaver S1.

2. Section the hair behind and just below the ear. She recommends using The Beachwaver Co. Darby Clips to section the rest of the hair out of the way.

3. Separate the hair into three pieces and braid under with the mantra, “Left under the middle, right under the middle.” Continue to braid, adding hair from the root as you work your way around the head, leaving out a couple of the Beachwaved pieces around the hairline.

4. When you’ve gone all the way around complete the brand to the ends of the hair and secure with a clear elastic. Take the tail of the braid and wrap it over around the side you started. Secure the ends with two bobby pins to the base under braid.
