Beauty Boss: Andrew Glass, Founder/CEO of Non Gender Specific
Our latest Beauty Boss is Andrew Glass, Founder and CEO of non gender specific—a brand that is for everyone. While running the global business division of a men’s skin care brand, he realized how segregated the industry was and sought to make a positive change. This led to the conceptualization of a brand that would have no gender boundaries, and products that would promote less consumer waste, address an array of skin concerns, and deliver exceptional results.
We recently sat down with Glass to chat about inspiration, wellness and beauty tips, secrets to success, and more:
What inspired the creation of non gender specific?
After nearly a decade in beauty I couldn’t understand how a progressive industry that relies so heavily on innovation could be so backwards in who the products were being marketed to. I saw the world progressing in equality, yet the beauty industry was still heavily segregated, so I started conceptualizing a brand that was literally for every human. I named the brand “non gender specific” because I wanted to take the guess work out for the consumer. Our name tells you exactly who we are without having to research further!
Tell us more about your line. Do you have a hero product?
Our debut and hero product is called the Everything Serum. It’s currently our only product and is literally a miracle in a bottle! This amazing product brings the term multi-functional to a whole new level by addressing nearly every major skin concern including wrinkle, elasticity, fatigue, pore size, brightness, cellular rejuvenation and hyper-pigmentation! One of our main goals as a brand is to promote consumers using less product and reducing waste, so we are only releasing truly amazing multi-functional products that cover a wide-range of skin concerns in each formula.
Where are your products sold?
Our products can be found in retailers in the United States and Canada such as Credo, Clean Beauty Mart, Anise Apothecary, and The Phluid Project.
Who inspires you?
Leonardo da Vinci.
Secret to success?
Believing in your vision and working hard as hell to bring that vision to life!
Beauty secret?
Always apply products in an upward motion. Over time, this helps keep things lifted.
Wellness tip?
I alway start my mornings with a fresh green smoothie—it makes me feel great and it has great skin benefits!
Best advice?
As cliché as it sounds, always follow your dreams and believe anything is possible.
