In 2022, the brand donated funds to Women for Women International, a charity supporting women survivors of war to rebuild their lives; partnered with One Tree Planted, a nonprofit reforestation organization to plant one tree for every online order placed last year; and donated 1 million diapers to Baby2Baby, a nonprofit that provides essential items to children in need across America.
We chatted with Stewart, who shared the inspiration behind the brand, secrets for success, wellness tips, favorite beauty products, and much more.
When was Slip founded and what does the name mean?
2004. The name slip® was thought of by Justin Dubois, my partner and the managing director at slip®. It’s named slip® because it’s a pillowslip and our silk has the perfect amount of ‘slip’ for the beauty benefits for your hair and skin!
What inspired the creation of the brand?
Slip® was born out of a genuine need when I was prescribed acne medication which resulted in extremely sensitive skin and thinning hair. My dermatologist suggested sleeping on a silk pillowcase. Unable to find one, Justin and I sourced the best silk we could find and wrapped it around my pillow. The results were dramatic and immediate. We had stumbled upon a long-forgotten beauty secret and slip® was born.
Does Slip have a hero product?
Our hero product is our original product: the slip® pure silk pillowcase. For many years, this was our only product available in four different colourways and we had to do a lot of educating as to why a silk pillowcase was a must-have beauty product. The goal has always been to make a slip® silk pillowcase a cult beauty product. Our product assortment is now available in many fun colors and patterns, and has grown to include sleep masks, award-winning scrunchies and hair accessories, turbans, hair wraps, travel sets, wellness products, gorgeous silk robes, and some really exciting products that are on their way!

What are your favorite products from the brand?
My favorite product is our hero product, the slip® pure silk pillowcase, as it has so many beauty benefits for your hair and skin. Slip® pure silk pillowcases are clinically shown* to visibly improve the appearance of fine lines, skin hydration, skin texture and smoothness, and skin radiance, luminosity or brightness in just four nights!
Over 95% of users agreed sleep creases, sleep lines and sleep wrinkles were fewer and less noticeable.* Slipsilk™ fibres are significantly less absorbent than other fibres such as cotton, so they are less likely to steal your expensive face cream during the night. In laboratory testing, slipsilk™ was shown to absorb significantly less face cream and create 43% less friction on average, versus cotton pillowcases with a 220 to 360 thread count, helping your face glide along the pillowcase all night long. All this adds up to good news for beauty sleep, and considering we spend a third of our lives in bed I want to make it count!
*Based on a study (clinical grading and consumer perception) of over 100 women, aged 35 to 65, who were regular users of cotton or synthetic (non-silk) satin pillowcases. Clinical grading showed statistically significant improvement. Individual results may vary.
Where are Slip products sold?
Slip® is stocked in all major retailers around the world including Nordstrom, Sephora, Selfridges, Ulta and Bloomingdales—just to name a few! It’s a dream come true, and I feel very proud and grateful of Justin, myself, and our entire team every time I see slip® on the shelves of our retailers.
Future plans for the brand?
The 2023 Spring Collection is so stunning and tells a beautiful story. There are a lot of exciting things to come next year. Watch this space!

Who inspires you?
I am inspired by many different people, for many different reasons. I am a fan of countless designers, chefs, architects and business people all for individual reasons and am constantly amazed by people's creativity.
Secret to success?
Still figuring this one out!
Beauty secrets?
I like to keep my skin care routine very simple since I suffer from extremely sensitive skin and react to a lot of products; however, I am a huge fan of regular NAD shots and cryo facials.
Wellness tips?
Daily meditations and I have been obsessed with infra-red saunas for over 10 years now.
Best advice?
Trust your gut.
How do you like to relax?
My days are usually extremely full and busy so I try to remove all tech and distractions after 5 p.m. so I can spend time with Justin and our two boys. I also love cooking for my family and friends, and enjoying a glass of wine to unwind.
