Beauty Boss: Sara Seward, Founder of ENUF Period

Sara Seward.

Our latest Beauty Boss is Sara Seward, Founder of ENUF Period—a line of clean, whole-plant CBD-infused wellness products that naturally relieve period and other feminine pains. A celebrity hairstylist with access to every kind of product, Seward discovered a gap in the market and wanted to find an approach to menstrual care that was topical, accessible and intentionally created to help minimize the monthly discomforts of our cycles.

These Game-Changing Period Products Will Make That Time of the Month Easier

ENUF’s products are all solution based and thoughtfully created to solve specific issues. Seward’s intent was to create a purpose-driven brand that supports initiatives with passion. As part of their Give Back Initiative, ENUF will donate a percentage of proceeds to help two causes close to its heart: the lack of feminine care resources for the underprivileged and people who have been unfairly incarcerated for cannabis.

We chatted with Seward, who shared the inspiration behind the brand, secrets for success, wellness tips, favorite beauty products, and much more.

When was ENUF Period founded and what does the name mean?

The vision for the brand started in 2018; it took a little over two years to get everything set up and nail down our formula. It was not intended to be a Covid baby but we launched in late 2020!

What inspired the creation of the brand?

I’m someone who has personally struggled with period pain for years. I was always hunting for a product that actually really worked and they always seemed to fall short. Intentionally creating a CBD product that could stand the test of debilitating discomfort became an obsession. It was mainly for my own personal needs and the though of turning it into a brand expanded from there.

Does ENUF Period have a hero product?

The first product launched: our Ritual Cycle Support Balm I’d say is definitely a hero product, not only because it’s currently our only product available but because it's so versatile. I wanted to launch with something that could tackle a number of different hormonal discomforts at different pain levels. Everyone's body is different—some of those who menstruate only experience headaches, some only cramps. Our balm was intentionally created with menstrual cramps, hormonal migraines, lower back pain, and sore breasts in mind.

UMA is a line of luxury beauty and wellness products that feature rare, precious botanicals grown in India and are centered around the 5,000-year-old wisdom of Ayurveda.

What are your favorite products from the brand?

Our Cycle Support Balm for being a product that genuinely works, but also has such a soothing and calming scent.

Where are ENUF Period products sold?

Currently we’re mainly direct to consumer, as well as in a few boutiques.

Future plans for the brand?

Plans for the brand are to expand our product line while intentionally sticking to our mission. I’m not one to follow normal beauty industry standards and pump out product after product. I think there’s something really special about taking your time with developing something that stands out and deserves to be enjoyed before the next thing comes to fruition.

Who inspires you?

My mother.

Every ingredient in each product is cultivated with the utmost care and obsessively considered for its efficacy and holistic healing benefits for the skin, body, mind and spirit.

Secret to success?

I think it’s safe to say that everyone has a different definition as to what success means to them. I believe success is when you’re genuinely fulfilled and enjoying the space you're putting your time and energy into.

Beauty secrets?

It’s no secret but I’d say sunblock, and I will always stand by this. Wear it, reapply it, it’s important.

Wellness tips?

It’s going to sound so cliche and on trend, but there really is something behind sticking to a routine. I’m currently trying to be better at this, but when I can, even for a few days, I notice such a difference in my overall calmness and productivity throughout the day.

Best advice?

Be true to you, and always be kind.

How do you like to relax?

I’m a huge bath fanatic and would take one everyday if I can carve out the time, preferably with a good book and a joint ; )
