Our latest Beauty Boss is Sylwia Wiesenberg, Founder of BAWDY Beauty—a clean beauty brand with booty-focused self-care products. After spending years traveling and living around the world, Wiesenberg quit her job in finance to follow her true passion for beauty and wellness. Her mission was to make women feel and look strong and confident. As a result, BAWDY Beauty—a clean, non-toxic skincare brand focused on products for the butt and beyond—was born
In addition to creating the original butt sheet mask, BAWDY Beauty offers a wide range of products for the derriere including Butt Balm, a Clay Butt Mask, CBD products, and more. Created for all bodies, each of BAWDY’s products are designed to meet different skincare needs while creating a daily ritual that activates the senses, bringing more fun to your body and skincare routine.
We chatted with Wiesenberg, who shared the inspiration behind the brand, best advice, wellness tips, and more.
When was BAWDY Beauty founded? What does the name mean?
It was founded in Summer 2018. The literal meaning of “bawdy” is humorously indecent, and I wanted to create a brand that represents myself and people who want to have fun with beauty and their bodies. Bawdy is an extension of me—it’s about finding more body love, freedom, and confidence.
What inspired the creation of the brand?
What inspired me to create this brand was my obvious obsession with butts and the lack of attention to this most neglected body area. The beauty industry has never focused on the beauty routine that’s below the waistline so I thought I would be the one who will open the beauty isle for booty beauty.
I started BAWDY with the Original Butt Mask to shake up the monotonous beauty narrative and bring more fun to beauty and self-care. (It’s impossible not to laugh if you’re wearing a butt mask!)
I love a reason to get naked and believe in the power of touch. All of BAWDY’s products are designed to help you connect with yourself and your body through unapologetic and clean beauty self-care.
Do you have a hero product?
The Original Butt Mask.
What’s your favorite product(s) from the brand?
Of course it’s the Original Butt Mask; however, I love the Bawdy Wash that is in powdered form and water activated. Firstly, it’s clean beauty inspired by endless summer and outdoor showers; and secondly, because the shower is the very first step to self touch. For me, taking a shower is the best way to escape from the outside noises and to feel myself, feel my body, touch it and show it some love. Another favorite is the Bawdy Tool—our newest body gua sha inspired by the female form and the architecture of Zaha Hadid.

On our website, Revolve, Credo Beauty, Ulta, and Amazon, among other retail channels and spas.
Future plans for the brand?
Making the butt the new face, and of course, developing products that are unique, sustainable, powerful, and simply beautiful.
The Bawdy Wash ($30) is a powder-to-foam cleanser that hydrates skin with a nutrient-rich formula powered by seaweed and kaolin, while a delicate blend of summer florals invigorates the senses.

Nature, art and architecture, and people.
Secret to success?
Be obsessed. Be passionate. Listen to your inner voices and go with your vision—never give up.
Beauty secrets?
Movement—Tonique Fitness—plenty of it daily, and sex!
Wellness tips?
Constantly move, feel yourself, and listen to your body.
Best advice?
Don’t rush.
How do you like to relax?
There are a few ways for me to relax after each crazy day: Tonique, cooking, and taking a shower. When I’m in nature, I just love to surf and catch waves.
