Celebrate the World's Tallest Living Christmas Tree With a Tree-Inspired Spa Treatment
What better way to get into the spirit of the holiday season than by experiencing the world’s tallest living Christmas tree? Located in front of Switzerland’s Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, which is one hour from Zurich, the giant 130-foot Sequoia tree is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Planted in 1900, making it more than a century old, the tree is lit with more than 30,000 LED lights during the commencement of the Festival of Lights ceremony.
The resort, which is also home to a famous thermal spa, offers guests a Sequoia Ceremony spa treatment to celebrate this timeless tradition. The 90-minute service is inspired by its namesake—a redwood tree—which can be found on hotel grounds. The treatments begins with a relaxing foot bath with salt peeling to moisturize tired feet, followed by a reflexology foot massage to relax and soothe. Afterwards, guests will receive an herbal body massage with the resort’s special local herb-filled massage stamps, which are dipped into warm oil to enliven the body and release positive energy.
During Christmastime, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is a winter wonderland filled with an abundance of holiday festivities, from festive dinners and Swiss afternoon tea time to skating and husky sleigh rides. Guests are also welcomed to a “Praline Show” that takes place on Christmas Day, where a pâtissier will host a praline-making station and craft fresh Christmas chocolates.
