Jean Louis Poiroux, Founder of Cinq Mondes, a high-end spa treatment product line inspired by ancient beauty recipes, recently published his new book, Happiness Within the Skin: The Secrets of Holistic Beauty from Cinq Mondes Spas. His book signing was hosted on September 22, 2018 by Spa Bellagio at Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas, which also kicked off its new partnership with the brand that will include hyper-luxurious new offerings featuring Cinq Mondes products and services.

Cinq Mondes products feature a selection of organic and natural ingredients and are free of parabens, phenoxyethanol, silicone, mineral oil and artificial color, and are dermatologically tested. The products in the line work together to create a holistic spa experience, taking guests at Spa Bellagio on a journey through inspired beauty practices around the world for a totally immersive treatment experience.

We had the chance to chat with Poiroux, formerly of L’Oreal and creator of the world-famous Garnier Fructis line, about his new book and what’s in store next for the global brand:

What inspired your book?

My book has been inspired by my experience. My interest for traditional medicine started when I was 20 with the discovery of Ayurveda. I was really surprised to see that nothing similar existed in France: I was looking for an environment of holistic wellbeing and couldn’t find it in my own country. Cinq Mondes has been a quest for the best beauty rituals and traditions for the last 17 years; this book is hence a testimony of this experience.

What’s the book about?

Cinq Mondes is itself all inspired from foreign ancestral traditional medicine, which is today a great way of balancing both mind and body. It highlights the essential role of yoga, meditation, skin nutrition through the plants’ dietetics, and the Ayurveda.

What’s your favorite Cinq Mondes product?

There is a specific product for which we have conducted five years of research, based on a plant at the heart of the beauty rituals and eating habits of the inhabitants of the island of Okinawa in Japan, who have the highest rate of 100-year-old persons in the world.

The product is called the Géto Suprême La Crème. It draws its effectiveness from Okinawa’s extraordinary pharmacopoeia to prevent and correct the signs of aging with outstanding results. On a different note, the Seeds & Flowers Exfoliant is another remarkable product since it is the finest exfoliant in the world (50 microns diameter), acting as a delicate yet effective micro-peeling for an immediate skin radiance.

What else can we look forward to from Cinq Mondes?

We are working on several outstanding projects all over the world: we are opening a 40,000 square-foot Cinq Mondes Spa, to embody the ultimate luxury experience, in partnership with the 5-star Kempinski Hotel, in Dubai at the end of this year.

We’ve started having beautiful partnerships all over the USA with the Delano Hotel in Miami, the Post Oak Hotel in Houston, Bellagio in Las Vegas…among many others to come.

In terms of new product development, we recently launched the Supreme Geto, a revolutionary anti-aging botanical biotechnology breakthrough which gives outstanding results of +53% collagen boost in the dermis after only seven days of use.

Finally, we have been working on the opening of key markets in Asia: China, Korea and Japan, which are strong referrals in terms of skincare. This is part of our global development strategy to increase our brand awareness and our brand visibility all over the world.
