The Other Martini
Ingredients:
30ml “Special Syrup” (recipe below)
20ml Lemon Juice
40ml Gin
20ml Red Vermouth
Special Syrup:
1 cup Sugar
2 Orange Peels
2 Lemon Peels
Squeezed Juice from the Orange and Lemon
2 slices Ginger
50g Cardamom (or depending on how strong of a flavor you want)
2 Star Anise
15-20 pieces Cloves
1 Nutmeg
Directions:
To make The Other Martini, first place the sugar inside a small pot and place on a stove and stir until it becomes caramelized.
Add the orange and lemon juice on top until the sugar melts.
Next, add all the other ingredients except the orange and lemon peel and stir for one hour until they all blend and mix together.
Add the peels on top for 20 seconds then place on a towel to let it cool. Syrup by now should be thick with a caramelized color.
Add the syrup and the other ingredients inside the shaker. Fill with ice and shake for 15 to 20 seconds.
Strain directly into the service glass. Add ice cubes and crushed ice and simply drink it as a martini.
