ON & ON was founded in 2016 to bring transformative treatments, products, tinctures and teas to locals and visitors in Hanalei, Hawaii. In addition to a variety of skin and body treatments, ON & ON collaborates with master formulators and alchemists to offer a selection of effective, organic, wild harvested products and pantry goods. We caught up with Melissa and Chelsea, co-founders of ON & ON, to learn more about the unique Hawaii spa.

What You’ll Experience: ON & ON feels familiar yet exciting. Cozy, elevated and casual. Visiting is like walking into your friend’s apartment—slip off your shoes and enjoy a saffron latte. Our knowledgeable and engaged team enthusiastically shares from a place of genuine interest and experience, offering generous mists, freshly brewed teas, and dollops of plant medicine in the form of elixirs, creams and potions to experiment with.

Key Features: The location is intuitive and easy to navigate thanks to Marmol Radziner, who collaborated with us to design the six treatment rooms. The only mirror you will find is in our restroom—we want our clients to enjoy the feeling in their body free of the judgement that reflection can sometimes create. We take great care and cleanliness with our tester protocol. Displayed like jewels on our back counter, every tonic, tea and serum on our shelves is available to experience, smell and try.

Insider’s Tip: As avid music listeners, our playlists are eclectic. Expect to enjoy the instrumental version of Dr. Dre's album “The Chronic” shuffled with groovy rhythms by Khruangbin, followed by the haunting singer-songwriter Jessica Pratt and the brave, raw artistry of Solange.

The ON & ON community: We regularly serve the firefighter's wives, teachers, single moms, executives, professional and amateur athletes, business owners, window washers, tech pioneers and celebrities. All in one day, all in one space, all together.

Spa Snacks: In the center of our space we have what we refer to as our community table where revolving snacks appear throughout the day. Crunch on activated sprouted almonds, cashews or pumpkin seeds. Inquire about the cold herbal infusions, colorful and vital, steeping in our fridge. Enjoy a local treasure: dried apple bananas with a cup of freshly brewed roasted dandelion tea.

Tonics and Teas: Warm and cool, earthy and floral—our daily beverage program rotates to honor what is needed in the moment. Caffeinated cravings come in the form of hand whisked matcha by local brand, Laka Living. Herbal teas are plentiful and we offer seasonal adaptogens like He Shou Wu (a Chinese herbal medicine) and our favorite blend of hormone-balancing herbs, yin power.

Activist Manuka Honey is on tap when immunity or spirits are low—the active enzymes replenish and offer a bit of sweetness. Anyone who wants to keep it simple can refill their water bottle at any sink because all of the water in our space is filtered.

Bonus: If we know it’s your birthday, we will likely surprise you with a special treat from the local bakery or donut truck adorned with a beeswax candle. We aren't super keen on singing the happy birthday jingle, but we are down to blast your favorite song and share a warm smile with you.

Detoxification Offerings: Detoxification is different from person to person, which is why we offer multiple ways to release toxins, stress, old patterns and held facial expressions. Skin brushing, endermologie and infrared sauna combined and on their own each offer a different and complementary approach to detoxification. Sweat it out, encourage the lymphatic flow and reduce stagnant energy.

Insider’s Favorite: Endermologie paired with an infrared sauna is a local favorite and appreciated by visitors as well. Our cold treatment, cryotherapy, attracts athletes, enthusiasts and our male clients, who often follow cryo with an infrared sauna.

Signature Treatments: Combining eight treatments in one space is our specialty: endermologie, infrared saunas, microcurrent, radio frequency, LED light therapy, cryo sauna, facials, skin brushing and waxing all under one roof. This is our favorite element—that clients can experience a facial today, microcurrent and LED tomorrow, and return the following week for their regular endermologie and sauna session.

For Luxurious Pampering: Sculptural Facial + 45 minutes of microcurrent is the way to go.
