CTZN Cosmetics Launches New Inclusive, Genderless Makeup Brand
CTZN Cosmetics announced the launch of its two debut products, which are now available for purchase. The revolutionary direct-to-consumer makeup brand is breaking barriers within the beauty industry, and aims to disrupt the makeup world by focusing primarily on the underrepresentation of demographic groups by mainstream makeup companies. The brand’s first campaign features seven models of varying ethnic backgrounds and genders.
The breakthrough cosmetics collection was founded by sisters Aleena, Aleezeh and Naseeha Khan, and includes:
GLOBALM ($19). This multi-purpose dewy non-sticky balm functions as lip balm, highlight, and/or eye gloss. Available in two shades: Clear and Pearl.
NUDIVERSAL Lip Duo ($25). These double-ended lip products feature a matte lipstick on one end and a translucent lip gloss on the other. The lipstick end is infused with wild mango butter to repair dry lips with a smooth texture and an intense color release, while the lip gloss creates balm-like softness and a mirror finish.
“We’ve worked tirelessly perfecting these formulas to ensure we had a nude lipstick shade for every skin tone—no more mixing required,” says Naseeha Khan, Co-Founder and Head of Producy Curation. “We’ve also developed a ‘Get Matched’ tool on our website, to help shoppers navigate shade matching right from their computer or phone.”
CTZN also aims to set the standard of corporate social responsibility by offering cruelty-free formulas that are free of parabens and talc, vegetarian and vegan. One of the brand’s next steps is to certify their products as kosher and halal.
“With CTZN Cosmetics, we truly aim to redefine the meaning of ‘makeup for all’ by catering to everyone,” added Aleezeh Khan, Co-Founder and Head of Operations. “To that end, we’ll be leveraging our blog, ‘Of The World,’ as an educational platform to highlight people of different backgrounds who can teach us more about their cultures through the world of beauty.”
