One of only three Michelin Key hotels in Orlando, Florida, the ette Hotel is a boutique hotel with designer touches, urban sensibilities, and seasonal surprises. Opened in 2023, Ette received recognition in the Michelin Guide in 2024 and again in 2025. Ette stands for “Earthy, True, Timeless, and Elegant” and is privately owned by Alex Ekbatani.

The Best Spas in Orlando

When you walk into the glistening white lobby, a perfume bar is the first thing guests will see. Dozens of perfumes, mostly from Italy, are available for smelling and comparing.

Two large display cases of artwork and dressed mannequins are on either side; on my recent visit, a snow-white Nutcracker ballet outfit dazzled in one display in honor of their recent themed afternoon tea collaboration with the Orlando Ballet.

While most people associate Orlando with theme parks, there’s more to this booming city than beneath its eye. Ette Hotel is located just far enough away from the theme park hoopla so the hyperexcitement is not in your face, but close enough to get to Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Sea World when you want to visit.

I wanted to check out the new Epic Universe at Universal Orlando, probably more than my 16-year-old daughter, to see the “How To Train Your Dragon” and “Harry Potter’s Ministry of Magic” sections, which I highly recommend. We easily took an Uber to the theme park.

When we returned to ette late in the evening, it felt like we returned to a calm oasis, which is exactly what we needed.

The cozy SPA AT THE ette includes two treatment rooms and is available by appointment only. Treatments include Natura Bisse facials, power peels, restorative massages, mommy glow massages, and sound healing massages.

Outdoor, there is a large outdoor terrace with a trickling rectangular fountain surrounded by tables and comfortable couches.

Behind the outdoor wall is a rectangular, clear pool, surrounded by lounge chairs, along with citrus water on hand. A large ducky float and tubes are available for lounging in the water.

Off to one side is the hotel’s restaurant, Salt and Cellar, from the acclaimed Chef Akira Bach, who has 30 restaurants around the world, including Michelin-starred kitchens.

For breakfast, the buffet included waffles with fresh cream and berries, cantaloupes, charcuterie with cheeses and meats, asparagus, savory and sweet Danishes, thin baguettes, banana bread, pound cake, chicken sausages, and juices including orange and pineapple.

There’s also a rooftop venue available for private parties.

The Book Room serves as a workspace, lined with shelves of art books. A large couch, armchairs, and a long table make the room look like a home office.

What’s striking is how spotless the entire hotel is. A Laundry Museum is on site with a view of housekeeping functions through clear glass, showing neatly folded white towels and large washing machines and dryers constantly at work. The entire hotel is spotless.

On each door is an iron knocker in the shape of a bird. The bathroom toiletries are Le Labo Santal 33, specially formulated for Ette Hotel. In the room on a shelf outside the bathroom is a double tray of toiletries and a single mint, adding a nice touch to the usual niceties. The linens smell of fresh laundry.

Insider’s tip: Check out the Book Room for deep reflective time. Take a journal and peruse the books, dip into the perfume-themed Le Journal ette newspaper, for witty articles with titles like “Love at First Sniff.” Don’t be afraid to try the perfumes, which number nearly 30 scents. It’s fun!
