On a recent holiday visit to Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, we were instantly swept up in the magic of this oceanfront escape. With 605 beautifully designed rooms set on 50 lush, landscaped acres overlooking Keoneloa Bay, this property feels like a quintessential Hawaiian paradise—only grander.

During the holidays, the lobby was festively adorned with tropical flair, and live music drifted through the grounds in the evenings, giving every stroll across the property a warm, celebratory vibe.

Accommodations

We stayed in a 2 Queen Ocean View room—a 500‑square‑foot sanctuary with a private lanai facing the Pacific, pillow‑top beds, elegant island‑inspired décor, and thoughtful in‑room luxuries that helped us unwind after busy days exploring the resort.

Pools, Beach & Recreation

Whether you’re traveling with family or seeking a romantic escape, the resort delivers with options for every pace:

•    Multilevel freshwater pools with a 150‑foot waterslide, lazy river, and several hot tubs

•    Saltwater lagoon perfect for paddle-boarding and gentle splashes

•    Poipu Beach and tidal pools just steps away for exploration at low tide

•     Tennis/pickleball courts, 24‑hour fitness center, and scheduled yoga classes

•    Nearby Poipu Bay Golf Course for players of all levels

The kids spent entire days in the water features, and I loved mornings on the beach watching tide pools come alive with seashells and tiny crabs.

Spa & Wellness

Anara Spa is a standout highlight of the resort and the largest spa destination on Kauai, offering an immersive blend of Hawaiian healing traditions and modern wellness. The expansive spa features indoor and outdoor treatment spaces, serene open-air garden hales, steam and sauna facilities, and lush relaxation nooks designed for unhurried restoration.

Spa Profile: Anara Spa at Grand Hyatt Kauai

During my visit, I escaped for a few blissful hours to experience the CBD Garden Massage in a private outdoor hale, followed by the Hawaiian Ali‘i Facial—both deeply restorative treatments that incorporated island botanicals, rhythmic massage techniques, and thoughtful ceremonial touches.

From the tranquil garden pathways to the co-ed spa pool and relaxation lounges, Anara Spa delivers a truly grounding experience that lingers long after you leave. For more details and insider tips about Anara Spa, check out my spa review.

  • Dine Early. Reserve coveted dining experiences like Tidepools and the resort luau well in advance.

  • Poolside Strategy. Book pool cabanas early or plan for morning swims to beat the busiest hours; you’ll thank yourself later.

  • Tide Pools. Explore the Poipu Beach tide pools right after low tide—it’s a hidden hour of calm exploration.
