Ettore Vino e Cucina Brings Organic Wines and Authentic Italian Cuisine to The Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles

Ettore Vino e Cucina is a popular Italian wine and culinary destination located at LA’s historic Original Farmers Market.

Fans of Los Angeles hotspot Osteria Mamma, known for its handmade pasta and Italian comfort food, will be delighted to learn that co-owner Filippo Cortivo has partnered with Fabrizio de Falco, managing director of Mendocino’s boutique organic estate and winery Ettore, to launch Ettore Vino e Cucina—an Italian wine and culinary destination at The Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles.

The partnership, which has been two years in the marking, combines Cortivo’s and Falco’s passion and dedication to food, wine, and way of life. The menu is inspired by the team’s Italian heritage and features a variety of signature dishes from all regions of Italy such as Ettore Tagliatelle Ai Funghi, a red wine pasta with mushrooms, kale, pecorino, and hazelnuts; and Stinco Di Agnello Con Patatine Al Parmigiano, braised lamb shank, fingerling potatoes and parmigiano reggiano.

We chatted with Cortivo to learn more about the inspiration behind the unique partnership, menu highlights, benefits of organic wine, and more.

Ettore Vino e Cucina is a collaboration between Osteria Mamma’s co-owner, Filippo Cortivo, and Ettore’s managing director, Fabrizio de Falco.

What inspired the partnership between Osteria Mamma and Ettore?

The partnership between Ettore Winery and Osteria Mamma was born from a shared passion for exceptional wine and meaningful dining experiences. Osteria Mamma was the first restaurant in LA to serve organic wines from Ettore Winery, and from the very beginning, our teams clicked. We discovered we had so much in common—especially our Italian heritage and a mutual commitment to prioritizing quality over quantity by offering sustainable, organic food and wine to our guests.

A couple of years ago, the team at Ettore Winery approached me with a vision to bring their wines to the LA market, creating a one-of-a-kind tasting room experience paired with innovative dishes. I took the lead on finding the perfect location, which led us to the iconic Original Farmers Market in LA—an ideal spot to bring this vision to life.

With 100 seats across indoor and patio spaces, Ettore Vino e Cucina is the largest sitdown restaurant at The Original Farmers Market.

What sets Ettore Vino e Cucina apart from other Italian restaurants?

Ettore Vino e Cucina stands out for its focus on organic ingredients and a menu designed to pair seamlessly with Ettore wines. We’re not just a restaurant—we’re a unique tasting room with a curated retail selection. Located at the Original Farmers Market, our large, yet intimate space features one-of-a-kind vintage furnishings sourced from across Europe. It’s a truly distinctive dining experience you won’t find anywhere else in LA.

Any special highlights from the menu that guests will especially love?

Guests rave about several standout dishes on the menu, including the signature Tagliatelle Ettore, our house-made Ravioli, and our tender Agnello (lamb). The appetizers have also received high praise for creativity and flavor along with our daily specials.

Guests enjoy a curated selection of wines from Ettore Wine and can explore the retail section that features ingredients used at the restaurant.

What are your most popular wine selections?

Ettore Wines are the star of the wine list. As the heart of our selection, they perfectly complement the menu and showcase the craftsmanship of Ettore Winery. For guests who appreciate Italian wines, we also offer a carefully curated selection of standout Italian varietals.

What are the benefits of organic wine vs. regular wine?

We believe in moderation when it comes to wine and food. Opting for organic products is better for our bodies and the environment. Organic certification guarantees that wines are free from chemical additives, allowing the true flavors of the grapes to shine through while supporting sustainable, health-conscious practices.

The menu is inspired by the team’s Italian heritage and features a variety of signature dishes from all regions of Italy.

Can people host private events at the restaurant?

We can accommodate private wine tastings or dinners for up to 14 guests at our central large table. For larger groups, we offer options in our patio area (up to 20 guests) or the entire restaurant for a fully buyout.

Please share anything else you'd like us to know.

In addition to our curated wine list and exceptional menu, we have a small retail section featuring specialty items like Ettore olive oil that is grown in Mendocino, as well as select ingredients we use in our kitchen and products from brands we admire. Guests are welcome to explore our retail offerings, and if they wish, they can purchase a bottle of Ettore Wine to enjoy at home. It’s a great way to bring a piece of Ettore Vino e Cucina experience with you.
