Grammy Awards Nails: How To Get the Manicures Seen on Dua Lipa and Lizzo
The 63rd annual Grammy Awards offered a unique star-studded night with a hopeful message as we head into 2021. Performers and presenters included stars Dua Lipa and Lizzo, and both artists’ nails were a fabulous part of their Grammy looks.
Dua Lipa, who was nominated for several awards, took home Best Pop Vocal Album For “Future Nostalgia” and performed “Levitating” and “Don't Start Now.” Lizzo presented the award for Best New Artist, which went to Megan Thee Stallion. How to Get Lizzo’s Grammy Awards Nails
Celebrity nail artist Eri Ishizu created a shimmering nail look, matching superstar Lizzo’s bling using OPI GelColor for Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
STEP 1: Start by applying OPI GelColor Stay Classic Base Coat.
STEP 2: Then apply one coat of OPI GelColor in “Suzi Calls the Paparazzi.”
STEP 3: Apply one coat of OPI GelColor in “Not So Bora-Bora-ing Pink.”
STEP 4: Next, apply OPI Chrome Effects No-Cleanse GelColor Top Coat.
STEP 5: Use OPI Chrome Effects in “Tin Man Can.”
STEP 6: Finish off with OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat.
How to Get Dua Lipa’s Grammy Awards Nails
Celebrity nail artist Chaun Peth created a show-stopping, butterfly-inspired nail look for Dua Lipa using OPI GelColor.
STEP 1: Apply one coat of OPI GelColor in “Passion” halfway, from cuticle to the middle of the nails. Do not cure.
STEP 2: Ombre in OPI GelColor in “Halo There!” by blending from the tip of the nails towards the middle where OPI GelColor in “Passion” meets. Cure for 30 seconds with LED Lamp. Repeat with all 10 nails.
STEP 3: Start drawing out silhouettes of butterflies on each nail with OPI GelColor in “Alpine Snow”. Cure for 30 seconds.
STEP 4: On the right hand blend OPI GelColor in “Suzi Nails New Orleans” with OPI GelColor in “Dreams Need Clara-Fication” together on pinky, ring and thumb nails. Blend OPI GelColor in “No Room For The Blues” with “Dreams Need Clara-Fication” on the middle and pinky nails and apply OPI GelColor “Kiss Me on My Tulips” on the pointer finger. Cure 30 seconds.
STEP 5: Repeat Step 4 on the left hand and cure for 30 seconds.
STEP 6: Using OPI GelColor in “Black Onyx” draw in the lines and details of the butterflies. Cure for 30 seconds.
STEP 7: Lastly, apply topcoat and cure for 30 seconds.
