Guests can choose from a selection of spa services, including massage, facial, body treatments, manicures, pedicures, and hair salon services. Some of the services on the menu include the Hydrafacial and cupping therapy. Other popular offerings include indigenous treatments like the Carolina Lavender Spa Collection, day spa packages, overnight spa packages, and fitness experiences.

We caught up with Alan Grant, Spa Director at The Spa at Ballantyne, at The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Charlotte to learn more about wellness and spa at the destination.

Why You’ll Love It: For our local guests, they enjoy coming to a full-service resort and spa and experiencing a serene day, feeling like they are on vacation just around the corner from their home! They can use the indoor pool and hot tub when receiving services of $100 or more, so a lot of our guests spend several hours rejuvenating in our spa!

Our hotel guests love that we have a variety of services, from couples massages for their romantic weekend, to shampoos and blowouts if they just want a refresh before dinner in the Gallery restaurant. Our hotel guests are loyal to The Luxury Collection brand, which promises unique experiences which we offer through customized blends and services unique to our destination.

Key Features: We offer separate men’s and women’s lounge areas to relax before or after services, which include showers, a steam room, and a sauna. With services of $100 or more, you always gain access to the indoor pool area which includes two lap pools, the main pool, and a hot tub. This area also has a dining section for those that don’t wish to sit in the spa café where we serve a healthy menu that they can enjoy pre, post or in-between services.

The Spa at Ballantyne offers a menu inspired by nature with spa treatments designed to nurture the mind and body.

Snacks Served: We offer a variety of hot teas or coffee in the lounge areas as well as bottled water, and currently have an assortment of individually wrapped healthy snacks (dried fruit, mixed nuts, yogurt-covered pretzels) with our compliments. We also serve red or white wine, champagne and beer, and an entire spa menu at an additional cost. Of course we would be happy to work with our food and beverage team to offer cocktails of choice from our bar menus!

Bonus: Guests receive a complimentary beverage with their service each time they join us, and as mentioned above, have access to some of the hotel amenities when services meet the $100 minimum. Seasonally spa guests also have access to the outdoor pool (days subject to change). We do our best to recognize and celebrate special occasions with a treat from our team to the guest!

Unique Treatment: A unique service we offer is the Stress Recover Skincare Treatment from Dr. Dennis Gross, which features an LED therapy mask to build resistance to stressors and alleviate symptoms like dullness, worry lines, and flare-ups.

Hair and nail salon services are also offered.

Splurge Treatment: We do offer several custom and/or luxury services that change seasonally. For example, our Carolina Lavender Massage is a very popular service, an Illuminating Diamond Facial will rejuvenate with our luxury skincare line'; or a Platinum Hydrafacial, which incorporates a boosting of the detoxifying process followed by a cleaning, extraction and hydration of the skin. Our Hydrafacial concludes with your choice of serum that will restore skin tone, minimize dark spots, or reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Insider’s Favorite: All of our services are truly fantastic and target several areas of wellness. I personally enjoy an Aromatherapy Massage (and of course 80 minutes because who doesn’t like a longer service!?) because our team is trained to take you on a transformative journey through aromatherapy (sneak peek: We might make it a journey through the Carolinas on our next menu!)

I also really enjoy the HydraFacial because it’s a non-invasive hydra dermabrasion that includes a choice of targeted serums to address your areas of concern.

Wellness Offerings: The Ballantyne Hotel curates a series of Wellness Weekends for both hotel and spa guests that is focused on DIY pampering. The Ballantyne welcomes guests to stay in a luxurious room, book a spa treatment, attend one of the expert-led wellness workshops or cooking classes, enjoy dinner in Gallery, and finish the weekend with morning meditation before check-out. These weekends include April 16-18, May 14-16, and June 18-20.
