Gray Malin Designs Poolside Cabana at The Beverly Hills Hotel
Fine art photographer Gray Malin has partnered with The Beverly Hills Hotel for his debut experiential design project, The Gray Malin Cabana at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

“I’m thrilled to finally share this project at The Beverly Hills Hotel, which highlights my passion and aptitude for interior design, allowing guests to step into one of my photographs,” says Malin. “With the tremendous history of the property in mind, I was inspired to create a space that paid homage to its glamorous past while putting a modern and personal spin on my custom cabana experience.”
Featuring a stylish and playful color palette that includes sand, pink, white, and green paired with stripes as well as the hotel’s iconic banana leaf wallpaper print, the cabana will instantly transport you to a playful poolside paradise.
Malin partnered with Serena & Lily to outfit the cabana with coastal and sophisticated furnishings, while at the same time paying tribute to the history of the hotel with CW Stockwell’s signature banana leaf wallpaper, Martinique, which has graced the hotel’s walls since 1949.
The cabana was designed with an effortlessly classic and chic California style in mind, while also paying tribute to the iconic design and history of the hotel with its signature banana leaf wallpaper.
Natural textures such as rattans and raffias further add to the cabana’s vacation-inspired vibe, along with furnishings such as refined custom chaises, a handwoven rug, hanging chair, and an inviting sofa. The canopy’s fabrication features custom pink and white stripes, while decorative elements like hand-stitched decorative throw pillows and blankets, a new outdoor umbrella with elegant tassels, and vintage props add a glamorous touch.
The walls are adorned with prints from Malin’s photography series Gray Malin at The Beverly Hills Hotel, which depict scenes of people in vintage wardrobe and props from the 1950s and 1960s capture the luxury and jet set lifestyle of Hollywood’s ‘Golden Age.’
Other unique elements include a set of vintage suitcases on a bamboo luggage rack, a pink telephone, and of course, a champagne doorbell!
The Gray Malin Poolside Cabana will be open at The Beverly Hills Hotel through the end of the year and can be rented for $500 per day (hotel guests only).

The Gray Malin Poolside Cabana will be available through the end of 2020 and can be rented for $500 a day by hotel guests only.
