Housed in the desert just north of Palm Springs, We Care Spa is less a conventional resort and more a refuge and a sanctuary for renewal. It is designed for those seeking a radical reset, deep detoxification, and a sustained lifestyle change.

Founded as a modest, home-based program in 1986, it has evolved into a discreet boutique retreat where customized fasting protocols, therapeutic colon hydrotherapy, nutrient-dense juices, daily movement classes and wellness education come together in an immersive program aimed at cleansing both the body and mind. What began as a family-run healing practice now attracts longtime return guests, wellness professionals, and a roster of high-profile visitors seeking concentrated results in an environment of comfort and care.

The Best Spas in Palm Springs

We Care began in the mid-1980s when a mother-daughter team turned their desert house into a practical health retreat built around simple, effective routines including juicing, movement, and digestive health work. Their operation expanded, refining a signature cleansing approach and adding pools, a yoga shala, private suites, and a professional hydrotherapy clinic.

Though the property now offers dozens of suites rather than the original three-room setup, the core mission remains the same, a guided, detoxification program supported by education, so guests leave with sustainable tools. Guests can book a 2, 5 or 7-night stay.

Accommodations & Atmosphere

We Care Spa’s accommodations combine minimalist, health-forward design with warm desert decor. Suites are simple with clean lines, neutral palettes, soft linens, and private patios or terrace areas where guests can sit in desert sunlight.

Rooms are designed to minimize sensory clutter so that the focus remains on rest, movement, and contemplation. On-site amenities include pools, hot tubs, steam and infrared saunas, and small communal spaces for tea, conversation, and classes.

The Program

At the heart of We Care Spa’s offerings is its Liquid Cleanse program including a structured regimen of nutrient-rich liquids including juices, broths, and herbal teas paired with hydrotherapy, colonics, movement classes, and educational sessions.

The protocol is regimented and includes frequent small servings of fresh liquids to keep energy steady while allowing digestive rest, and the supporting treatments help move metabolic byproducts and ease inflammation. Programs can be tailored with add-ons like massage, infrared sauna sessions or additional colon hydrotherapy, as well as coffee and B-12 add-ons to colonics.

How to Do a 3-Day Juice Cleanse at Home Making All Your Own Juices

The daily juice offerings emphasize organic, vegetable-forward blends with carefully measured fruit for blood-sugar stability. I received a green juice with kale, celery, cucumber, and lemon, root and vegetable blends (carrot, beet, ginger), mineral broths for added electrolytes, and calming herbal teas.

I was also given a twice-daily detox drink that worked with the colonics to help rid the body of toxins. The hourly consumption of liquids keeps the metabolism working, reduces cravings, and makes the fasting sustainable. I was also expected to try to drink half of my body weight in ounces daily.

Classes & Education

Daily movement and educational classes are part of the We Care experience. There are daily gentle and restorative yoga and breathing classes, Pilates and mobility sessions, guided breathwork and meditation and educational wellness seminars covering gut health, mindful eating, and colon hydrotherapy.

Specialty Therapies

We Care’s spa treatments are tailored to a detox-centered stay with massages to support lymphatic flow and digestive release rather than purely relaxation. I received a digestive release massage focusing on the abdomen, lymphatics and diaphragm to reduce bloating.

I also received two nutrient-rich wraps where my body was dry scrubbed and then massaged with castor oil and wrapped in a heated blanket. I also received a hydration facial to restore dry skin. The infrared sauna and steam rooms also help sweat out and mobilize stored toxins.

Colon Hydrotherapy (Colonics)

Colonic hydrotherapy is central to We Care’s approach and is integrated into most cleanse packages. The spa provides private, clinician-guided sessions in comfort-oriented suites and bundles multiple colonics across a stay to support progressive digestive cleansing.

I was new to colonics and very anxious about receiving them, but the We Care staff is experienced and each of my three colonic treatments was safe and painless. I informed the staff that I was nervous and they walked me through each step of the process to put me at ease. The result was an instant relief from bloating, enhanced nutrient absorption, clearer skin, and increased energy.

Wellness Education & Informational Classes

The education classes at We Care cover the science of fasting and metabolic resetting, gut health fundamentals and diet, how to maintain detox results after leaving the resort and lifestyle strategies for sleep, stress and longevity.

I visited the spa after having chemotherapy and radiation, and received one-on-one tailored plans for practices to repair and keep my body healthy. I was also able to share my test results and receive a tailored nutritional and gut health plan moving forward.  Each guest has time to consult with the We Care experts for their individual health questions.

We Care Spa offers a rare combination of clinically-oriented detox protocols delivered inside a calming designed retreat. It is not for casual vacationers seeking only pools and cocktails; instead, it’s a sanctuary for people who want measurable change through structured programming.

For guests ready to lean into the process, We Care promises not only short-term results but also practical education to keep significant benefits long after a stay.

We Care Spa also has a retail store where guests can purchase products to take home and continue their wellness routine. [Photo courtesy of We Care Spa]
