Bobs and bold coppers are on trend for spring.
Contemplating a hair color for change for spring? "Seasonally speaking, it's just always a good idea to go lighter and go brighter during the spring and summer," says celebrity colorist Marco Pelusi. For color inspiration, he shares the hot trends of the season:
Spring Hair Color Trend: Rooty Highlights
"If you've been wanting to a change, it's a good time to ask your hairdresser for a few highlights," says Pelusi. It doesn't have to be much lighter than your original color—consider just going a shade or two lighter. He shares that this season’s on-trend highlights are darker at the base and lighter and brighter on the ends, whether you're a redhead, blonde or brunette.

"People are wanting bobs again and different kinds of bobs," says Pelusi. He shares that for years we've seen a long layered look with beach waves, but now clients are wanting to go shorter.
Pixies are also making a come-back. "The pixie trend is still in that avant-garde new trend phase, so its not completely mainstream yet, but it's starting to show up again." says Pelusi.
Spring Color Care
“Something to take note of: a color change, like adding lighter colors or warmer colors, can sometimes fade more quickly than the regular color that has been done in the past. Take some valuable time to evaluate which haircare products you’re using at home; make sure that your products are specifically formulated to repair and moisturize, as well as prevent your hair from color fade,” says Pelusi.
Pelusi also shares this expert tip: “Do not shampoo your hair for at least 48 hours after a hair color service to help preserve the color as long as possible.”
