Wisconsin Spa Guide: The Best Spas in Milwaukee

Because of its distinction as a “fly-over state,” many folks completely discount Wisconsin. One thing they don’t realize, though, is that Milwaukee—the biggest city in the Midwestern state—has a lot to offer. Of course, you can find great beer and cheese in the Cream City (Milwaukee’s nickname), but you can also find some world-class well-being destinations.

The small-town charm of Milwaukee extends to its spas and wellness centers. But don’t take this to mean that the city’s offerings are limited. In fact, you can find all sorts of spas and treatments—including massages, facials, laser hair removal, body sculpting, chemcial peels, and microneedling.

Minneapolis Spa Guide: The Best Spas in Minneapolis

Let’s say you’re looking to remove some dead skin and have a professional perform extractions of your pores—Milwaukee’s got you covered. Or if you’re looking for something more clinical, like laser rejuvenation treatments to address melasma, the Cream City’s still got something for you.

9th Cloud Therapy

3536 West Fond Du Lac Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53216; (414) 671-9139

According to a recent review of 9th Cloud Therapy, the massages at this spa take you to heaven and back. This day spa in Auer Pallet promises good vibes and positive energy, which it has evidently accomplished. As a big fan of music, Titus Dowl—the founder, owner, and massage therapist at 9th Cloud Therapy—especially curates playlists that are good for your mind, body, and soul.

One neat thing that 9th Cloud Therapy offers are complimentary drinks to help you unwind before your relaxing massage. Not that you’d need it though, as Dowl has been dubbed “Mr. Painkiller” by his patients. This is another soothing spa that we recommend for ultimate bliss.

In case you’re worried that this spa won’t be open, keep in mind that its business hours are pretty expansive. Monday through Saturday, the spa is open 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Sundays, business hours are a little different, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call the number listed above in order to schedule your appointment.

Elevated Healing Massage & Wellness Arts

1862 W Fond du lac Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53205; (414) 502-8428

Across the street from Johnson Park in Milwaukee rests a peaceful spa that offers out-of-this-world services. You can get a facial, which features organic products, a gentle exfoliation, a facial mask, toning, moisturizing, steam, and massage. You can also purchase a bacial, which is designed to clear your back of acne.

There’s also a special beard treatment including a beard wash, conditioner, moisturizing beard oil, hot towels, a relaxing face massage, and a facial steam. In addition to the above, Elevated Healing is a Black-owned massage studio and wellness spa that also offers bodywork services (like lymphatic drainage), aromatherapy services, and skincare services (like exfoliation).

One thing to note with Elevated Healing is that they “do not offer refunds for any reason.” Since services are appointment only, the spa urges guests to select a time and date that you know will definitely work for you. That said, the owner understands that life happens and that some circumstances may require you to miss your appointment. If that’s the case, Elevated Healing would be happy to reschedule your appointment.

Elevated Healing has “created an environment where rejuvenation becomes a habit.” And from the five-star reviews, it’s clear that they’ve accomplished exactly that. Honestly, we encourage you to book your appointment at Elevated Healling as soon as you can.

Radiant Healing Massage & Wellness

732 N Jackson Street, Suite 150, Milwaukee, WI 53202; (414) 301-1135

Swedish. Therapeutic. Deep tissue. Sports. Lymphatic. Prenatal. Reiki. These are the six types of massages available at Radiant Healing Massage & Wellness. You can get choose from a 30, 60, or 90-minute massage at the spa—which cost $74, $94, and $124, respectively. Healing is clearly a primary component of this spa. As such, the staff promises you a warm greeting, a comfy environment, and a customized massage session.

How, exactly, do you customize it, you ask? Well, the therapist will have a discussion with you. During that conversation, they’ll ask about your current health conditions, areas of stress or pain, and any other concerns you have so that you can get the most out of your massage.

If you’re hoping to book an appointment at the downtown Milwaukee location, it’d be helpful to know that Radiant Healing Massage & Wellness is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Urbaine Oasis Spa Boutique

231 E. Buffalo Street, Suite 506, Milwaukee, WI 53202; (414) 526-1113

In downtown Milwaukee, you’ll find this brightly lit day and med spa in a historic building with amazing rooftop views. What’s more is that Urbaine Oasis offers so many treatments. For example, you can get in-depth treatments like body sculpting, chemical peels, facials, laser hair removal, intimate bleaching, and microneedling. You can, of course, also get simpler beauty services like lash extensions and waxing.

Urbaine Oasis promises to stay on top of all the latest wellness technology and skincare while providing you a place to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life. It’s a struggle that the founder, Dana McIntosh, knows all too well. McIntosh left the corporate HR world in order to follow her passion for aesthetics and well-being.

At the spa, you can also buy skincare favorites like PCA Skin Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum and PCA Skin Clearskin Moisturizer. Additionally, you can purchase body care, apparel, and makeup online or during your visit to the spa.

If you’re planning to stop by Urbaine Oasis, keep in mind that it’s closed on Mondays and Wednesdays. That said, you can stop by the spa on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WELL Spa + Salon at Pfister Hotel

424 E. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202; (414) 277-9207

Located in the four-star Pfister Hotel, WELL Spa + Salon is a gorgeous and glamorous spa in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. As its name indicates, WELL features a spa—where you can get services like skincare, massages, and body work—as well as salon services, like hair treatments, makeup, manicures, and pedicures.

In 2022, this award-winning spa was featured on Milwaukee Magazine’s Best Of list—and, honestly, it’s not hard to see why. There are tons of added luxuries including a private restroom and walk-in shower. Moreover, since it gets pretty chilly in Milwaukee, there are heated bathroom floors, heated robes and treatment tables, slippers, back and neck hot packs, and therapeutic essential oils included in many spa services.

It’s important to note, however, that the business hours are pretty varied. For instance, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, the spa and salon are open from 9 a.m. to 9.m. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, it’s open from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Sundays, business hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
