Sand Spa, founded by Megan Richardson and Gretchen Tiernan in 2014, provides a modern day spa experience in an atmosphere inspired by the serenity of the ocean. Guests enjoy highly flexible and customizable treatments including classic massages, detox messages, couples experiences, and hydrating facials. The spa also offers a wide variety of beauty services such as manicures, waxing, eyelash extensions, brow shaping, and body scrubs. Currently Sand Spa has locations in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach with more locations launching soon.
We caught up with Richardson and Tiernan to learn more about Sand Spa’s offerings.

We specialize in chair/reflexology at Hermosa Beach - an elevated spin on reflexology - in addition to full-body massage at Hermosa and Manhattan Beach. We also have a full-service nail salon at Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and West Hollywood, with 16 manicure and pedicure chairs in addition to skincare, HydraFacials, and waxing.
Bonus: Guests are served champagne upon arrival at every location and have an ample amount of Instagrammable moments that differ at each location. Our nail salon in Manhattan Beach has an iconic art mural by our good friend @itsaliving, as well as neon signs with self-care mantras throughout all of our locations.

Signature Treatment: The 60min. Chair/Reflexology Massage with our signature Sand Spa Santal lotion and a guided meditation is very popular.
Luxurious Splurge: Another splurge service is our Pampered & Polish Pedicure, which is our luxury spa pedicure package that includes an herbal mineral essential oil soak, nail filing and shaping, cuticle care, callus treatment, our nourishing and brightening organic sugar scrub, and a marine cooling masque with hydrating sea extracts and botanicals for soft, exhilarated feet. Indulge in 30min. of massage during this luxury service, as well! The massage combines our cooling and soothing massage blend and hot towel wrap that relaxes tired, achy legs followed by paraffin. We lock in all the moisture with our Sand Spa lavender and mint body cream, followed by our signature healthy sole foot treatment to heal dry and cracked skin, and finish with polish and cuticle oil to top off this 60min treatment!
Insider’s Favorite: Our go-to is a Platinum HydraFacial. In one treatment, you get the best skin of your life! The machine cleanses, extracts, and hydrates - giving you a glow all day long. We also love the reflexology chair massage because the chairs and atmosphere give to ultimate relaxation. My favorite nail treatment is the Healthy Sole Pedicure - It's SOLE GOOD! (& the package includes callus remover!)
