We connected with Donna Mainiero, Spa Director at The Spa at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail, who shared more details about the wellness sanctuary and it signature treatments, insider tips, and more.

Why You’ll Love It: As soon as guests walk into our spa, the inviting, warm welcome carries them through the check-in process to our relaxation area, where the atmosphere continues to radiate warmth with our fireplace in the co-ed lounge. Our treatment rooms are created to help guests decompress with subtle colors to relax clients as they flow into their spa experience with our talented therapists.

Our spa menu caters to the climate of Vail, offering services that relate to altitude adjustment, outdoor activities, and hydration. The spa amenities are larger than most other spas with our oversized jacuzzi, cold plunge, steam room, and sauna. The location of our spa is centrally located and accessible after a long day of mountain activities.

Key Features: Our spa features locker room amenities to include oversized Jacuzzis, steam rooms, sauna, and cold plunge. Insider’s Tip: We encourage our guests to ensure they have enough time to enjoy all of our facilities. From our Jacuzzi to the steam room, the sauna to our relaxation rooms, it’s truly an all-encompassing experience and having an hour or so pre and post-treatment will offer a more fully-rounded experience.

Splurge Treatment: The Tranquila Ritual is a luxury treatment including a bubble bath, full-body exfoliation, and customized full-body massage with clean, all-natural products from Sanara. Guest experience the healing botanicals of mango butter, cupuacu, and Chilean rosehip tto nourish skin, leaving it velvety soft and hydrated.

Unique Treatment: We suggest the High-Altitude Adjustment Massage to guests who are having trouble adjusting to the altitude so they can enjoy the beauty and benefits of visiting Vail. The treatment creates harmony with an essential oil blend with peppermint, pine, and lemon, plus targeted pressure point techniques that help ease the symptoms of elevation, aiding the body’s recovery. Guests also receive the essential oil as a take-home gift and a Liquid IV Hydration drink after treatment.

The Four Seasons Vail has had a master aromatherapist formulate this special blend to help alleviate the symptoms often associated with altitude adjustment. It is the first massage we recommend to our guests when arriving to high country as it will help to ease the adjustment in higher elevation. When combined with a massage, the high-altitude adjustment formula is a great entry into mountain life!

Insider’s Favorite: For skin care, a guest favorite is the HydraFacial, the ultimate facial experience. Clients receive a deep cleanse, gentle peel, all impurities extracted, and intense hydration with ingredients that nourish the skin. The immediate results are amazing, fine lines are diminished, skin is plumped and hydrated, leaving clients with an amazing glow.

For body, the Sports Massage is a favorite. This massage is great for those living in an environment where outdoor activities are required. The massage uses firm pressure which helps loosen the muscles, an essential oil blend to aid in the recovery of range of motion, and if clients prefer, our therapists will use the Theragun for percussion therapy.
