Key Features: Having recently celebrated its 120th anniversary on July 28, the resort is a timeless destination surrounded by nearly 800,000 acres of the White Mountain National Forest and home to Bretton Woods, New Hampshire’s largest ski area.

Inspired by our setting, our 25,000 square-foot, full-service mountain spa and salon, which was designed with the natural beauty of the surrounding White Mountains in mind, brings the outdoors inside to treatment rooms with sweeping views of Mount Washington, the Presidential Range and Crawford Notch.

The Spa features 13 treatment rooms, including five dedicated massage rooms, one couples room, three facial rooms, three multi-purpose rooms, and one deluxe wet room with a Vichy shower, treatment tub with air jets and color therapy. A fitness studio with strength-training equipment, cardio machines and free weights is also available to guests. Private locker rooms, a heated indoor pool and whirlpool, as well as an outdoor relaxation deck are adjacent to the fitness studio.

There is also a heated indoor pool and fitness center for guests to enjoy.

Bonus: While enjoying a treatment, robes, slippers, and towels are provided for all guests. Both the Ladies' and Men's lounges offer relaxing steam and sauna rooms, as well as a co-ed whirlpool which is open year-round.

Snacks Served: At The Spa, we serve complimentary hot and cold beverages, as well as a signature spa fruit and nut mix provided in The Spa Relaxation Lounges. We offer a light spa food menu, as well as beer, wine and champagne cocktails for our guests who are 21 years of age and older.

The resort is also home to a 25,000-square-foot spa and includes a co-ed relaxation lounge.

Splurge Treatment: The Root To Crown Experience is the ultimate “splurge” treatment. This ultra-hydrating experience will quench and soothe every inch of the skin, from toes to scalp. The journey begins with a smoothing full-body exfoliation. Guests are then wrapped in a cocoon of comfort and treated to a hot-oil scalp massage, allowing the warmth and moisture of hand-harvested shea butter to revive skin from the neck down. Guests are then treated with a customized facial to suit each individual’s specific skin needs.

Both the Ladies' and Men's lounges offer relaxing steam and sauna rooms, as well as a co-ed whirlpool.

Insider’s Favorite: One of my favorite treatments is the Ultimate Journey Massage Experience. This ultra-hydrating experience will quench the skin and soothe the muscles, working from the outside in. After a stimulating, full-body exfoliation, hand-harvested shea butter is expertly applied before guests are wrapped in a cocoon of comfort. The scalp is then treated to a hot-oil massage, as the warmth and moisture of the body wrap revives the skin and relaxes muscles from the neck down. The experience ends with a choice of a Swedish, Deep Tissue or Hot Stone Massage. The treatment is 100 minutes of pure relaxation!

While enjoying a treatment, robes, slippers, and towels are provided for all guests.

Unique Treatment: A unique treatment at The Spa is the Mount Washington Signature Body Ritual. This ritual treats the body like a temple for 100 minutes with hydrotherapy that soothes the inner soul.

In the Signature treatment, the Vichy shower’s seven jets relax the muscles in a virtual waterfall. The Vichy Shower was designed in Vichy, France as a hydrokinetic treatment. The Vichy shower body treatment consists of a waterproof massage table and a set of shower heads that rain down pressured water on guests while they are lying on the table; providing a relaxing and therapeutic water massage.

Next, guests are treated to a triple exfoliation which includes dry brushing and Mountain Mist, the resort’s signature body line, to gently remove dull layers of skin and improve circulation. A hot oil scalp massage is followed by time in a Swiss Shower and a tension-melting, full-body hydration application.

Featured Products: The Spa selects products and retail items based in part on companies’ sustainable practices, the natural and holistic ingredients, and how they were produced and packaged for sale, which is important to our guests. Some of these products include customized “Mountain Mist” products which use local alpine botanicals for signature treatments, Naturopathica, Zents, Jane Iredale’s, Oka B and many more that all align with the spa's sustainability practices.

As of July 2022, The Spa is now carrying the high-performance German skincare brand Babor Luxury Skincare. Guests can now enjoy the Babor Collagen Lifting Facial (50 minutes / 100 minutes; $190-$360) which uses an ultra-potent hyaluronic acid and collagen plump the skin from the inside out while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles as well as the Doctor Babor Pro Rejuvenation Facial (50 minutes / 100 minutes; $200-$360) which features high-performance cosmeceuticals and specialized techniques to boost skin activity, hydrate and reactivate skin’s functions to restore the health and vitality of the skin.
