On a recent trip to Vail, Colorado, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit Exhale at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort Spa for a few glorious hours. The mountainous drive leading up to the resort is breathtakingly beautiful with scenic outlooks at every turn. When I arrived to the property, I was impressed with all it had to offer as an inviting family-friendly retreat, boasting upscale European charm.

I made my way to the spa and felt a sense of calm as I stepped into the 30,000-square-foot oasis that is Exhale Spa. The space was large and inviting with warm hues and natural design elements. Something that caught my eye immediately was a vibrate blue water feature displaying beautiful natural stones at its base.
Upon further inspection, I noticed many of the stones had inspirational messages written on them. My mood was immediately boosted when reading these, setting the stage for further relaxation and Zen.
After checking in at the front desk, I was escorted to the locker room to change into a robe and slippers. Then I was shown to the relaxation space where I sipped on comforting herbal tea.
I was treated for two back-to-back services beginning with a 50-minute Flow Massage. The massage therapist who worked on me was professional, knowledgeable, and listened to my needs in order to best customize the treatment for my specific needs. It was wonderful. I also opted for a cooling peppermint essential oil that made the experience both relaxing and invigorating.
Next up, I was treated to a 50-minute HydraFacial + Booster which included added light therapy. The esthetician who worked on my skin walked me through the process of the facial, explaining the exfoliation, cleansing, extraction, and hydrating taking place thanks to the vortex action of the HydraFacial machine.
Booster options could be customized depending on clients’ needs for a restorative approach, radiance booster, age-refinement, or clarifying aim. For my particular booster, Cool Beam technology was employed in the form of a light mask designed to stimulate collagen.
The procedure was relaxing with maneuvers that also felt “active.” My skin would be visibly dewy and plumped for days to come.
Throughout my treatments at Exhale, one through line I observed was the extra care that was put into every moment during my visit. My robe hung on a warmer while I was on the treatment table so it was nice and toasty when I slipped it back on; warm neck pillows were applied; comfortable boosters and adjustments were made for an added touch.
Relaxing chimes were struck, signifying the end of a treatment, which was a nice auditory element. The thought and detail put in by management and staff to ensure that guests experienced the best possible time while in the spa was ever-present.
After my treatments, I was able to spend a few minutes relaxing on the spa’s heated tiled loungers, which proved to be the cherry on top of a wonderful spa day! I could have stayed there all day. Steam and sauna amenities within private men/women locker rooms were available for use as well.
My only regret was not having enough time to enjoy the spa’s signature Aqua Sanitas water ritual before or after my treatments. Modeled after after ancient Roman bath houses, Aqua Sanitas is a five-step, self-guided ritual in various hot/cold temperatures of magnesium soaking pools, showers and steam features.
The co-ed Aquas Sanitas space is absolutely stunning with a grand entryway leading into pools with earthy stone and tile accents, accompanied by the soothing sounds of falling water. On my next visit, I won’t let myself skimp on this!
After wrapping up my spa services, I enjoyed browsing the shelves and displays downstairs in the retail boutique. The staff I encountered were friendly, helpful, and very approachable.
My shoulders were looser and my skin glowed brighter as I left the spa that day. I’m looking forward to my next visit already!
