Located at the world's only Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star guest ranch, the award-winning Granite Spa at The Ranch at Rock Creek is grounded in Montana tradition, providing restorative treatments that are magnified by the therapeutic benefits of nature itself. Each guest receives a crafted bespoke itinerary that is customized according to their individual wellness goals, and that incorporate forage ingredients and wild-harvested skincare products. The Spa's Director, Candace Sellman, took us on a special tour inside the spa and shared additional insight into the treatments and amenities offered at this magical retreat.

Why You’ll Love It: Guests love that the entire Ranch at Rock Creek is an extension of our Granite Nature Spa. We gather sagebrush from the meadows for our Clearing Sagebrush Scrub; the scents we use inside from local producers, like sage and cedar, echo the wild Montana scents outside our doors. Adventure Yoga sessions allow you to hike up to a mountaintop vista for a private yoga session, and our CrossFit-style natural movement classes use the landscape, boulders and logs in combination with a fitness studio to provide a closer connection to our pristine Montana wilderness.

Yoga, meditation, natural movement training and forest bathing are included on the list of activities.

Key Features: Guests can walk to the Granite Spa from their accommodations and change into a robe and slippers while they sip on water, tea, a glass of champagne or artisan cocktail. If they’ve just returned from a hike, horseback ride or fly fishing excursion, they can arrive early and enjoy our marble walk-in shower or heat up in our dry cedar sauna before entering their treatment room or soaking tub. A version of some treatments can also be enjoyed in certain accommodations.

Bonus: Guests may not be aware that they can book one of our Signature Spa Experiences, which combine restorative treatments with mind and body classes. These mini-retreats allow you to reach a deeper level of relaxation and they are always customized to the guests’ wellness goals.

Insider Tip: Enjoy the benefits of our customized itinerary services provided by your Ranch Ambassador upon booking. They craft a bespoke experience ahead of your stay so that you can fit in special experiences like a sunrise yoga session on Top of the World vista, without missing out on your all-inclusive amenities like twice-daily activities, farm-to-table meals, and seasonal events.

Snacks Served: We proudly brew and retail Tumblewood Teas, a Montana tea company. We especially enjoy the citrus kick of their Montana Bright Morning blend, and the cleverly named Montana Almond Joy: green tea mixed with coconut shavings and almond slivers. Sweeten your cup with the honey from our very own resident bees. We also mix up our own switchel: a ginger, maple syrup and apple cider vinegar drink that is thirst-quenching, restores electrolytes and reduces inflammation.

Splurge: The Unplugged Half-Day Retreat. Guests start out with a fitness class to sweat out impurities and then cool down with some mind-centering stretches and deep breathing. Return to the Granite Spa for three amazing treatments: the Clearing Sagebrush Scrub, the Rock Creek Custom Facial, and the Head, Hands and Feet Rejuvenation. These services are not just relaxing, but also beneficial to your health and holistic beauty goals. The retreat is three-and-a-half hours of customized and recuperative bliss.

Most Unique Treatment: I think our most unique treatment is our meditation class called “Forest Bathing” or “shinrin-yoku." We teach you to reconnect with nature, engage your parasympathetic nervous system, and disconnect from the constant stress cycle we put our minds and bodies through daily. Instructors guide you through a slow-paced walk and immersion experience on our hills and trails. It concludes with a tea ceremony and experience reflection.

Insider Favorite: The Rock Creek Ritual combines our Clearing Sagebrush Scrub and Restorative Massage. After you've had your energy cleared by the sage smudge and skin exfoliation, take a warm shower, then follow your therapist to one of our spacious treatment rooms for a relaxing massage. You are left with zero cares in the world!

Featured Products: We use aromatherapy doTERRA oils in all treatments. Montana and Northwest Region products from Sage & Cedar, and Mountain Rose Herbs. We also use skin therapy soaks from Medicine Springs Mineral Therapy.
