Unplug Meditation’s Little Bundles of Self-Care Joy
When you spend a significant amount of time in quarantine, or as the Unplug Meditation team is calling it “quarentime,” this internal reflection can undoubtedly boost levels of ideation and creativity for discovering new ways to keep the studio community happy and engaged. Unplug wanted to create ways to surprise and delight its members, so when the studio’s assistant manager—who also is one of the studio’s biggest shoppers—wanted to put together a collection of items to lift the spirits of a close friend, the greater idea to offer a variety of hand-curated self-care bundles for online purchase began to take shape.
The Unplug Meditation studio team collectively came together to deliberate on what specific items would create a maximum desired effect of relaxation and well-being. And thus, the Unplug bundles were born. “We all wish that someone would send these to us!” says Suze Yalof Schwartz, Studio Owner and CEO of Unplug Meditation.
The team has worked hard to handpick and carefully curate each individual bundle to represent a certain feeling. Self-love, calm, and peaceful sleep are just a few of the philosophies and intentions set inside each box. All of the handpicked items are a collection of the Unplug team’s very own favorite things from the Los Angeles studio and onsite (now also online!) shop.
“Everyone’s going crazy over the bundles because it’s such an easy way to make someone feel good—and you know we all need that right now,” Schwartz says. “The Crystal of the Month Club was something that was suggested by one of our clients who said that she would love to not do a ‘fruit’ of the month or ‘flower’ of the month, but instead a ‘crystal’ of a month. We just thought it was a brilliant idea and decided to go for it.”
Schwartz shared that the “Cleansing Bundle” has so far been the all-time favorite among meditators. People are wanting to clear their space of negative energy and replace it with positive energy. This all-in-one internal cleansing agent includes Koshi Chime, a Palo Santo candle, selenite bowl, clear quartz, black tourmaline and a smudging feather.
The bundles can be shipped anywhere—and if you’re based in Los Angeles and live within five miles of either of the Unplug studio locations—the team will drop them off right at your doorstep for nearly instantaneous enjoyment.
Schwartz confirms that client feedback is one of the most important contributions to their business, so as bundles begin to sell out and new ideas continue to roll in based on suggestions from shoppers, new bundles will follow.
Schwartz’s personal favorite offer is the “Crystal of the Month Club” followed closely by the “Clarity” bundle, because she’s a huge fan of Palo Santo and House of Intuition candles. She and the Unplug team are optimistic about this online offering’s continued success, even once normal operations continue.
“People love a ‘surprise and delight,’ especially when you give them something that actually makes their home feel a little more special,” says Schwartz. “Our bundles are really about treating the person to a little bit of love and a little bit of self-care.”
