Waldorf Astoria Spa Las Vegas Review: A Stunning Sanctuary for Wellness and Relaxation High Above the Las Vegas Strip

The entrance to Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas.

A city that never sleeps, Las Vegas is home to many world-class hotels, restaurants and bars, entertainment venues, and nightclubs. It’s also known for its high-end spas, which offer locals and travelers alike the opportunity to rejuvenate and refresh in-between all the excitement and action.

An Insider’s Guide to the Best Spas in Las Vegas

During a recent stay at Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, I visited their luxury spa—a 27,000-square-foot wellness sanctuary perched above the Las Vegas Strip. From the moment I stepped inside the hotel (even before I made it to the spa), I instantly felt more relaxed as I left the hustle and bustle of the city behind.

Spa Profile: Waldorf Astoria Spa Las Vegas

A non-gaming hotel, Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is situated in the center of the Strip and a short distance from many of Las Vegas’ premiere attractions. Upon stepping inside the elegant property, all it takes is a quick elevator ride to the eighth floor where Waldorf Astoria Spa Las Vegas is located and you’re instantly in another world.

The spa has a large retail boutique that carries a wide variety of wellness and beauty products.

My husband and I had come to enjoy a spa day together and after checking in at the front desk, we were brought to a comfortable lounge area located across from the retail boutique, where we were offered our choice between bottled water, tea or champagne.

While waiting for the spa attendants to give us a tour of the facilities we enjoyed staring out the windows, which overlooked the Strip. I also browsed the retail selection in the spa’s boutique, which has everything from robes and workout clothing to premium skincare and wellness brands, including branded Waldorf Astoria merchandise.

At the end of my visit, I made sure to pick up one of the branded Waldorf Spa candles, which feature the spa’s signature scent. It’s a great way to bring a part of the spa experience home with you!

Guests are served water in the waiting area before being led to the locker rooms.

Throughout the spa, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the city and Strip.

The spa attendants then led us down a set of stairs to the separate men’s and women’s facilities, where we were given individual tours and lockers.

The first thing I noticed were the incredible panoramic views of the city and Strip from throughout the spa. Unlike many spas in Las Vegas, which are more dark and dimly lit, the Waldorf Astoria Spa Las Vegas features floor-to-ceiling windows that allow plenty of natural light to come in while showcasing the views. It was definitely one of my favorite features of the spa and during my visit, I spent most of my time just gazing out the windows in awe.

The spa is also very spacious with multiple relaxation areas and amenities so that guests have plenty of room and personal space. Because I was visiting the spa towards the end of the day it was less busy, but even if there had been more people there, it would never have felt crowded since everything is so spread out.

The women’s locker room offers plenty of space for changing and relaxing in-between treatments.

Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase views of The Strip throughout the entire spa.

Before meeting up with my husband in the co-ed lounge, I took some time to enjoy the spa’s various amenities. We had arrived half an hour before our appointments in order to give ourselves plenty of time to experience the full hydrotherapy circuit and other spa features without being rushed.

I started out by taking a dip in the heated vitality pool, which immediately soothed my tired muscles. The vitality pool has built-in stainless steel tube lounge seats and offers direct views of the Strip. It was a very unique experience being able to soak in the warm water while looking out over the busy city—I was away from the action yet was still able to observe it from a distance.

I could have spent hours relaxing in the vitality pool, and I imagined what it would be like to be there at night while the Strip was all lit up. I couldn’t imagine a more ideal way to unwind after a night out in Vegas!

Both the men’s and women’s sections of the spa include heated vitality pools.

Even though I didn’t want to leave the vitality pool, I wanted to see the rest of the spa so I headed over to the herbal steam room, which is located next to the dry sauna and ice fountain.

To experience the spa’s Hammam, guests can book the 60-minute Hammam Body Treatment, which starts with a 15-minute relaxing steam ritual followed by warm water being poured over the body while one lies on a heated marble slab.

This is followed by a relaxing sequence of cleansing techniques where nourishing soap exfoliates and cleanses the body, and concludes with a conditioning scalp massage. Sign me up!

Amenities include an ice fountain and Turkish Hammam.

The ice fountain is located next to the herbal steam room and dry sauna.

Beyond the ice fountain, steam room, and sauna is the tepidarium room, which has four curved lounge seats made of heated ceramic tiles. The Roman-style relaxation lounge is a more mild version of a sauna with a focus on gentle warming and rejuvenation. It’s a great way to relax your entire body, soothe sore muscles, restore the immune system, and it even helped my swimsuit dry faster after the vitality pool!

Just like the rest of the spa, the views from the tepidarium seats are incredible with a special bonus: you can watch the rollercoaster at New York-New York Hotel & Casino! I sat there mesmerized as the rollercoaster did loop after loop—when else can you say you’ve ever seen a rollercoaster while at the spa?

Another unique element of the spa are its heated tepidarium seats.

From the tepidarium lounge, spa-goers can see the rollercoaster at New York-New York Hotel & Casino.

A heated laconium offers additional space for relaxation.

Next to the vitality pool there is a heated laconium bench that offers spa-goers another area for warmth and relaxation during the hydrotherapy circuit. There’s also a women’s relaxation lounge on that side of the spa which has various infused waters, as well as fruit and nuts to snack on.

A door leading to the co-ed relaxation lounge is located on the opposite end of the spa and it has a sitting area along with several individual seats that overlook the Strip. A few of the loungers intentionally have obstructed views of the Strip for those that would prefer to not look at the scenery for relaxation purposes.

I met up with my husband back in the co-ed lounge, who told me about his experience on the men’s side of the spa. He mentioned that they had the same amenities including a vitality pool, which he enjoyed relaxing in.

He was impressed by how big and spacious the spa was with an abundance of options beyond your standard steam room and sauna. His favorites included the tepidarium seats and the vitality pool, which offered views of The Cosmopolitan, The Crystal Shops, and Aria.

There is also a co-ed relaxation lounge where guests can spend time before and after their services.

I enjoyed taking in the impressive views while relaxing in a comfortable lounger.

Within a few minutes, our massage therapists came out to greet us. Since we were getting a Couple’s Relaxation Massage, we headed to one of the wellness spa suites to enjoy side-by-side treatments.

The curtains were closed and the room was dimly lit with a Himalayan salt lamp for a relaxing ambiance. Prior to our massages, our therapists opened the curtains to show us the view from our treatment room. Guests that want a brighter room and more natural light during their service can also request to have the curtains open.

We spent the next 60 minutes in peaceful bliss as we each experienced customized massages that were tailored according to our individual needs. My therapist did an incredible job focusing on the areas of my body that needed more attention which were my upper back and shoulders, neck, as well as my right hand and forearm (which have a tendency to be fatigued from overuse due to working on a computer at a desk).

My husband really enjoyed his massage and said that his therapist was great at adjusting to his specific requests, which included using deeper and firmer pressure upon request.

We experienced a relaxing Couple’s Massage in one of the private treatment suites.

After our treatments had concluded, my therapist showed me several few stretches that he recommended I do daily in order to keep my muscles from tightening up and overcompensating. He pointed out that the muscles on my upper chest were tight and pulling the rest of my back muscles forward, causing various points of tension throughout.

But after a detailed and thorough massage (which was never painful at any point), I felt he had done an excellent job at working through my muscle knots and loosening tight muscles, which allowed me to feel great relief afterwards and more flexibility. I also slept really well that night and woke up feeling refreshed and restored.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Waldorf Spa Las Vegas and I would absolutely go back during a future visit to Las Vegas. I loved it so much that even if I was staying at another property, I’d take the time to book a spa service or buy a spa pass to enjoy the facilities. It’s truly a unique spa that sets itself apart from many others in Las Vegas, embracing its environment while offering guests a relaxing retreat where they will feel rejuvenated in-between activities and adventures.

Whether you’re in town on business and need a quick break from the busy convention scene, are on a romantic getaway with a partner and want to indulge in wellness and relaxation together, are celebrating a special occasion with a group of friends, or simply want to treat yourself to some self-care, you’ll find what you’re looking for at Waldorf Spa Las Vegas.
