One product I consistently recommend, write about and have praised for years has got to be the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta® Universal Daily Peel. You can imagine my excitement a couple months ago when I learned the brand was launching a version for the body, enter Alpha Beta® Exfoliating Body Treatment Peel. Because I focused on the face last week, this week for my #WeeklyWellness2021 Challenge was dedicated to smoothing skin head-to-toe.

The dryness of winter causes more roughness, skin buildup, and crepiness for me, especially on my arms, elbows, and legs. I’m convinced ingrown hairs are also more prevalent too, since I’m living in long sleeves/pants. Because the body peel contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) which can increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun,  I figured now was the perfect time to give these exfoliating wipes a whirl. Along with sun exposure, steering clear of open cuts, scrapes or freshly shaved skin is recommended.

Week 6 of Weekly Wellness: Olive & June At-Home Manicure

Packaged in sets of eight (or a mini option with two), I’ve been using these twice a week for the last couple of weeks. I was seriously impressed with the size of the towels. They’re huge and contain a generous amount of product (without being wet or slimy) for easy application. Instructions advise to start with the folded towel, massaging upwards with circular motions and once it starts to dry, unfold and continue to other body zones. I did just that and found I had enough for my entire body.

A precise blend of AHAs, enzymes, and bakuchiol (a retinol alternative) work to smooth bumps and brighten all-around. Though a powerful exfoliant, the peel is balanced with ingredients like antioxidant-rich squalane and aloe to keep the skin’s moisture barrier intact and encourage collagen production.

Week 5 of Weekly Wellness: Two Steps to Shiny Hair

An AHA wipe to make full-body exfoliation quick and easy.

An AHA wipe to make full-body exfoliation quick and easy.

The first time I used the body peel, I could feel a difference in my skin the next morning. The areas on the back of my legs were silky smooth, allowing my body lotion to fully absorb. I noticed the mild keratosis pilaris (KP) on the back of my arms had improved and my skin overall left smooth, soft, and healthy.

My body works hard and usually doesn’t get the same level of attention or product love compared to my face, so it was nice to treat myself fully. This would be a fabulous option prior to an event like a wedding, other special occasion or just because! I’m a big fan of the Dr. Gross Skincare brand and have some additional self-care sessions planned with other fun products from the line. Stay tuned!

Cost: $76 (eight treatments)

Available: Sephora
