Discover WorldSprings: A Collection of Mineral Hot Springs Wellness Destinations

Beyond daytime soaking, the experience reaches its peak under the dark desert skies, offering starlit nighttime soaks alongside Finnish barrel saunas, crisp cold plunges, and fire pits.

We caught up with Maggie Cope, Vice President of Marketing at Zion Canyon Hot Springs, to talk mineral soak circuits, property hidden gems, and how to plan the ultimate desert retreat.

Designed to recreate iconic thermal waters from around the globe, WorldSprings pools offer custom mineral blends inspired by destinations like Iceland, Japan, and the Dead Sea.

What do guests love most about their experience at Zion Canyon Hot Springs?

We often hear from our guests that there is truly nothing else like it in the area. Zion Canyon Hot Springs combines the restorative benefits of mineral hot springs with an outdoor setting that feels deeply connected to Southern Utah’s red rock landscape. The experience is open-air and immersive, surrounded by canyon views, desert air, and the natural beauty that makes this part of the country so unforgettable.

Guests also love how close we are to Zion National Park, which makes the experience feel like the perfect complement to a day of adventure. After hiking, biking, sightseeing, or exploring the park, they can be in the mineral hot springs within minutes, letting their bodies recover while still feeling immersed in the landscape. It’s that combination — proximity to Zion, open-air soaking, red rock scenery, and a wellness experience unlike anything else nearby — that really stays with people.

Birch-lined Finnish barrel saunas and crisp cold plunges offer contrast therapy to further enhance a day of wellness at Zion Canyon Hot Springs.

Can you tell us about the different types of pools, mineral compositions, and wellness amenities (like the saunas and cold plunges) offered on the property?

Zion Canyon Hot Springs has 32 natural geothermal hot spring pools and 16 WorldSprings pools with mineral formulation inspired by iconic destinations around the globe. You can visit the Dead Sea, Iceland’s Blue Lagoon, Hokkaido in Japan, New Zealand, Guatemala, and our own Glenwood Springs in Colorado, all in one visit!

Our natural mineral pools are sourced from Southern Utah’s underground mineral springs and include minerals such as magnesium, potassium, and sodium. Temperatures generally range from about 80 to 104 degrees, allowing guests to build a circuit based on how they feel that day.

Beyond the pools, we offer three birch-lined Finnish barrel saunas, three cold plunges, fire pits, hydration stations, lounge chairs, plush towel service, showers, changing rooms, a cafe, and a full-service bar and both family-friendly and 21+ areas. The combination of a soak in mineral hot springs, a cold plunge, a sauna, rest, and hydration makes the experience feel complete and revitalizing.

Open until 11 p.m. daily, evening hours transform the pools into a peaceful, illuminated night-soaking sanctuary.

Is there a special perk, hidden gem or bonus experience that guests might not be aware of prior to visiting?

One of the most special hidden gems is our starlit nighttime soak. Many guests plan their visit around a post-hike recovery soak, but they may not realize how memorable the property becomes after dark.

We recommend building in a starlit nighttime soak at Zion Canyon Hot Springs into a multiday Zion itinerary, especially after bigger adventure days when your body is ready to rest and recover.

Zion Canyon Hot Springs is open until 11 p.m. daily, and guests can extend the experience well into the evening to unwind before bed with a soak in warm water under the Southern Utah night sky.

Surrounded by towering red rock walls, the property offers a serene high-desert refuge for relaxation and recovery.

Do you have an insider tip you can share with our readers? (e.g., the ideal soaking circuit for post-hike recovery or the best time of day to visit?)

My insider tip is to visit during the quieter windows, when the property feels especially peaceful. Earlier in the day can work well if you want a slow, restorative start before heading into Zion, while later in the evening is ideal for winding down after a full day of hiking, exploring, or road-tripping through Southern Utah.

Seasonally, shoulder periods are some of my favorite times to visit. Spring and fall are beautiful in this part of Utah, with comfortable temperatures and incredible color in the landscape.

Winter can also be a hidden gem because there is something so restorative about soaking in warm mineral hot springs on crisp days. Those non-peak moments give you more space to move through the pools, linger by the fire pits, and really take in the setting.

Available for couples, families, and larger groups, the property’s private cabanas offer a leisurely retreat complete with priority food and drink service.

What kinds of refreshments, local treats, or signature cocktails/mocktails are available to guests at your cafes and bars?

We wanted the food and beverage program to be versatile and to nourish our guests after they’ve spent time in the sun while experiencing the cold plunge and mineral hot springs. Guests will find a mix of refreshing drinks, fresh bites, and treats that make it simple to linger a little longer on property.

A few standouts include our craft cocktails and mocktails, Utah-style specialty sodas, and refreshing poolside drinks that are especially nice after a day in the sun.

For guests with Premier Access, the bar experience adds another layer with beer, wine, cocktails, and poolside drink service. It’s all designed to complement the mineral hot springs experience without taking guests out of that relaxed, restorative mindset.

Premier Access (21+): 10 exclusive mineral pools, expanded sauna and cold plunge circuits, a full bar, and poolside service.

For guests looking to elevate their visit, what is a luxurious "splurge" or premium upgrade you recommend? (e.g., private cabanas, premier access upgrades, etc.)

The private cabanas are my favorite splurge. They give guests a shaded, comfortable home base between soaks, which is especially nice for couples, groups, families or anyone who wants a more leisurely, elevated experience. Single cabanas accommodate up to eight guests, while double cabanas accommodate up to 16 and include priority food and drink service for the initial order.

I’d also recommend Premier Access for adults 21 and over. It gives guests access to the serene adults-only side of the property, including 18 natural mineral hot-spring pools, 16 WorldSprings-inspired pools, two barrel saunas, two cold plunges, The Springs Café, a full bar, and poolside drink service.

WorldSprings’ most ambitious concept yet set against the red rocks of southwestern Utah.

With successful sister properties already in Colorado and Texas, what makes the Utah landscape a perfect fit for the WorldSprings family, and what makes this specific location unique?

Utah was a natural next chapter for WorldSprings because the landscape already embodies so much of what our brand is about: awe, restoration, adventure, and a deep connection to the outdoors. Zion Canyon Hot Springs is set in southwestern Utah’s red rock country, just minutes from Zion National Park, so it gives guests an incredibly unique way to complement their time in one of the country’s most iconic natural destinations.

What makes this location especially meaningful is the water itself. Zion Canyon Hot Springs offers access to the legendary La Verkin Sulphur Springs, also known as Pah Tempe, which have long been considered a natural treasure in the region. Through a landmark partnership with the Washington County Water Conservancy District, we helped reopen public access to these special geothermal waters in a thoughtful, modern way.

It’s also our third and most ambitious WorldSprings property to date, with more than 50 natural geothermal and globally-inspired mineral pools.

Do you have a personal favorite pool or spot on the property to unwind?

My personal favorite pool is probably the Australia-inspired Yarrangobilly pool tucked right along the edge of the property facing the canyon. There’s something really special about soaking there at sunset with the canyon views surrounding you.

The mineral blend in that pool is also incredible. It’s rich in bicarbonate, sodium, magnesium, and potassium, which are all known to support relaxation, muscle recovery, reduced inflammation, cardiovascular health, and better sleep. After a long hike or busy day, it’s one of those spots where you can physically feel your body start to slow down and reset.

Zion Canyon Hot Springs has something for everyone to enjoy from mineral-rich soaking pools to invigorating cold plunges.
