Behind the Brand: Blossom Essentials Utilizes Nature's Best Ingredients to Provide Effective Dry Skin Relief
After spending years suffering from extreme skin dryness and sensitivity, Sarah Vilenskiy developed her own product line, Blossom Essentials, out of a personal need for products that would work for her skin in the long term. She sought to create products that contained natural, hydrating ingredients that would help people dealing with chronic dry skin issues.
All of Blossom Essentials’ products are made from scratch with the company’s world-class chemist who has been formulating cosmetic and skincare products for over 30 years. Every product is a formula, and they also use scientific research to incorporate new breakthrough ingredients in products like their Lilium Supplement, which uses an ingredient called Curcumin BioBDMC™30 that has been shown to aid with inflammation in many autoimmune diseases.
In addition to featuring clean and natural ingredients, Blossom Essentials’ formulas are cruelty-free and are gentle enough for even the most sensitive and irritated skin. They are big believers in simplifying one’s skincare routine and that no one needs a 12-step daily regimen in order to achieve their desired skincare goals.
We chatted with Vilenskiy, who shared the inspiration behind the brand, favorite products, future plans, and more.
When was Blossom Essentials founded and what’s the meaning behind the name?
We launched in April 2020. We wanted our products to give people the opportunity to blossom into their truest selves. So often, people dealing with skin diseases lose their self-confidence and their self-identity because the disease consumes them. We wanted to give them the relief they need to finally find themselves again.
Tell us more about your products and what makes them special.
For starters, we aren’t just another skincare company making a bunch of different serums, oils and face creams for all skin types. We focus on the one thing we know—dry and irritated skin! We also value simplicity; from the time spent on our website to using our products, we want to make the process simple and effective. We make one product in that category that is often multi-use and always multi-benefit.
Along our “less-is-more” mindset, we take our time in creating products. We don’t launch a new product every month, because it takes us a very long time to go through the R&D process for each one. We evaluate both for effectiveness and how clean it is. I personally research every ingredient—down to the last one—to make sure it’s not only clean, but also OK for those with the utmost sensitive skin.
Do you have a hero/favorite product?
Our hero product is definitely our Hydration Repair Honey Salve. It is very versatile and can be used for almost any type of itchy or dry skin problem. It’s definitely hard to choose a favorite though, but our Total Moisture Body Wash has to be one of my top choices. It is so gentle on the skin, it’s super nourishing and it’s incredibly clean. It doesn’t leave that sticky, dry feeling most natural body washes do, while still feeling very clean. It’s definitely a fan-favorite!
Where are your products sold?
We currently sell on our website, Amazon and BeautyBridge.com, but we are hoping to expand to many more retailers this year!
What's next for the brand?
We actually went through a rebrand in early December, so we were focused solely on that. Now, we are working to transition all of our products to the new branding, which is definitely a bigger project for the team. Aside from that, we have a few new, exciting products in the pipeline for Q1/Q2, including a gentle face cleanser, so look out for those and be sure to follow along with what's next on our socials, newsletter and website.
