Jenn Chung’s 10+ years of experience in the beauty industry began during her teens when her mother started Forever Beaumore, a skincare company. That unique opportunity of working for the family business allowed her to build her experience from warehouse packer to manufacturing products to business development to president of the company at age 24.

Years later, Chung launched embody—a line of ingestible skincare products that taste delicious, simplify your daily skincare routine, and improve skin from the inside out.

“I can't picture myself in any other industry because beauty plays such a huge role in my life,” says Chung. “I love seeing how the beauty industry has evolved over the years and am so proud that I get to be a part of that change now.”

In addition to the world’s first Retinol Gummy (which sold out in three weeks) and improves skin’s texture and appearance, embody recently launched an Apple Cider Vinegar Gummy that promotes the growth of healthy digestive tract bacteria to improve overall nutrient processing, curbs cravings, and reduces inflammation for brighter and glowing skin.

“Our products help encourage people to think about skin care differently,” says Chung. “When we’re developing products, we think about where the skin concern starts, and how we can treat it at the source. We’re noticing that the reality is, most consumers have poor diets. We’re busy, stressed, and don’t always have healthy options to go to. That causes a lot of strain in our body and builds up toxins, which ACV is known to assist in flushing out.”

We chatted with Chung, who shared the inspiration behind her line, what’s next for the brand, and more.

When was embody founded and what’s the meaning behind the name?

Embody was founded at the beginning of 2020. I chose the name “embody” because it is symbolic of embodying beauty. To embody something means to be made of it, to embrace, to become. Those two syllables felt feminine yet so powerful. More importantly, it resonated with our vision to create edible skin care that our customers can easily incorporate into their lifestyles and get the results they need to become more confident in the skin they're born with.

Tell us more about your products and what makes them special.

I come from a background in skin care, particularly ingestible beauty. Vitamins are such a powerful tool for skin care when formulated with knowledge and love. Our hero product is the world's first Retinol Gummy: a delicious beauty gummy that's not only tasty AF, but works within the first bottle to help promote skin cell turnover and keep skin glowing.

Skin care is exhausting. There are just so many products and so many instructions. I created embody so we can help you simplify your beauty routine (two gummies a day can replace four to five different products on your vanity) so you can spend more time being a boss and less time playing skin chemist!

Do you have a favorite product from your line?

Hands down, the Retinol Gummy is my baby. It was our very first product that we went to market with and I hope it'll stay forever with us as we grow! What I love about the Retinol Gummy the most is that it’s truly a one-and-done solution plus it tastes amazing.

What's next for the brand?

Our next product will be launching this summer! I can't let the secret out yet but you can expect it to be 1) delicious, 2) a gummy, and 3) skincare-related. This product has not been formulated anywhere else yet and will be the first of its kind! As the founder and CEO, I am constantly learning and adapting—and so will embody.
