Nestled in the bucolic town of Rancho Santa Fe, California, is a new boutique hotel. Guesthouse Hotel at La Valle is a 77-room boutique hotel with the new Verde spa and a new restaurant. Sitting on 200 acres with fitness amenities, the hotel is also located three miles from the Del Mar beaches.

What used to be the local favorite golf club, Morgan Run, has now expanded with a $15-million hotel transformation. Designed by San Diego firm Hannah Gabriel Wells, the décor leans into coastal aesthetics with light wood tones and beachy soft blues.

There’s world-renowned golf with an 18-hole championship course, with an additional final nine holes being renovated and a short game area and driving range planned this year.

La Valle Coastal Club features 27 holes of championship golf on its three nine-hole courses.

Along with golf, there are also eight pickleball courts, eight tennis courts, and two Padel courts. Swimming pools for lap exercise and a kids’ pool are outside.

In the women’s locker room, there’s a steam room and a cold room.

The co-ed spa area is perhaps one of the biggest draws. There are cold plunge areas in the same space as a dry sauna and a Halotherapy infrared salt sauna, which adds salt to the air.

The benefits include alleviating eczema and reducing respiratory inflammation, making it easier for people with asthma, allergies, or congestion to breathe.

Another addition is the Lumati recovery machines available in private rooms. The equipment stations are designed to help with circulation and body balance. While listening to guided meditations, you can also get hydrogen and oxygen added on.

In the Lumati 5-in-1 Recharge Portal, you stand at one machine while infrared lights are projected on the entire back of your body. One of the phases includes a focus on Vagus nerve stimulation to calm anxiety, nerves, and reduce stress.

The Micro-Impact Therapy encompasses vibrating plates under your feet to help with sustaining bone density and retaining your balance as you get older, an important function to prevent falls and injuries. The therapist said astronauts use similar machines when they return to Earth and need to readjust to gravitational forces.

In the Lumati Recharge Pod, you lie down on a bed, and the system uses a spectrum of red and near-infrared light on the entire body. The experience is supposed to help with tissue repair, cellular repair, and improve circulation.

Within the session, you’ll also experience PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy, which emits gentle electromagnetic pulses to rejuvenate cellular function for cell repair and faster recovery to help with performance optimization and longevity. Headphones, playing guided meditation soundtracks, also help with relaxation.

Both machines have common features, but clients can choose whether they prefer Micro-Impact Therapy in the vertical Recharge Portal or PEMF Therapy in the horizontal Recharge Pod. Each experience lasts 20 minutes.

In addition to the Recovery Lounge, the spa also features a menu of curated, appointment-based treatments that include massages, facials, advanced wellness offerings like halo therapy and molecular hydrogen-based treatments, and movement classes.
